MRI results on #Blazers center Marcus Camby's left knee are back and are negative. Camby is listed as day-to-day with sore left knee.

Good news. It's what I was expecting, but it's nice to have the news actually released. Unlike another player on the roster...

The next update will be the setback at the start of next season, the day after Camby signs his new contract with us.

Glad to hear it's nothing traumatic ... but the fact that it's "just" wear and tear and age isn't exactly comforting. Chances are Camby's going to have increasing trouble as the season wears on, especially as the games come fast and furious.

Completely disagree. We were doing fine with Juwan Howard. Camby came in, had a 30/13 game, got a three year deal at 10 million per, I believe, and never came close to playing that way again. And he didn't put us over the top. We still lost in the first round, so who cares? He's getting older and he's always injured. We've gotten nowhere without him and it's been expensive. And we lost two of our best outside shooters in the deal.

    1) Howard did fine at first, but his performance was in sharp decline at the time the trade was made.

    2) He got a 2 year extension, not an unreasonable gamble.

    3) Camby played well the first half of last season, and was a major contributor before age and injuries caught up to him.

    4) I liked Outlaw more than many posters, but he was hardly irreplaceable. Blake was just plain over-rated. He had a career year when the team won 54 games, and he has been living off that ever since.

Notice that Juwan Howard didn't have an MRI?

Not only did Juwan heroically replace both Oden and Przybilla and get us through the 2009-10 season with a winning record, he was the one who kept praising Portland and talked Camby into re-signing here when the whole league was trying to sign Camby.

When this whole shameful board belittled the miracle of Juwan Howard and poo-pooed my solitary alarm at his eviction from Portland, I alone stood against the tide and tried to throw him a lifesaver. The inevitable happened. The next season when neither Oden nor Joel returned, management was forced to awaken long enough to try to fill his boots with Fabricio Oberto, Sean Marks, and finally Chris Johnson.

Juwan, if you're reading this, don't become disheartened at being thrown overboard by the city you loved. Just focus your sad thoughts on me. I will always be here when you come to visit, rejected by everyone except me. Keep me in your thoughts to survive the hardships of the rest of your life.

Juwan loved us enough to take a min contract to go ring-chasing. That's fine. Don't let the screen door hit your ass on the way out to the rocking chair.

I hope that you and Juwan have a happy life together. :)

BTW, Luke Babbitt's rebounding percentage is higher than Juwan's.

You see what I mean, Juwan? I know the pain you take so maybe you should just not read this board.
