i don't think some folks here realize how debilitating it is to pay a non all-star 30 + mil while having a supermax on the books. And we want two of them?

This new CBA is not easy to workaround.

I certainly agree. $30+ mil per season is what we are about to do with Grant. Why? And not sure what CJ was getting but he was never close to being an all star. The Blazers just happily over pay people to be in Portland because they can't get anyone else to spend the money on that is truly worthy of the money. I would rather see Ayton put up 18/10 on 60% from the field vs DDR Making $29 mil on an expiring and a position we do not really need if we have Sharpe and overpay Grant just because we have to pay somebody. I'm using Ayton as the example because he plays a position we truly need to upgrade. We do not need to spend $29 mil on DDR or $40-$49 mil on Lavine. Same with overpaying OG. If we go get Claxton he will cost $30+ mil to stay in Portland. Maybe i'm just being to cynical?

CJ makes $35.8 mil next season

look, I know you're like a deranged parrot that will cackle "trade-Dame" based on any kind of stimulus, or even no stimulus at all, but c'mon man, an uncorroborated, unsourced rumor from over a year ago speculating Dame would like Ayton to be a Blazer back when Ayton was making 12M is a real wacky reason to cackle in this thread, at this time
“Deranged parrot” is the kind of thing the mods USED to care about. No need for name calling

I think "deranged parrot" would make a great burner account. It's worth the potential avatar alone.
So maybe he was just trying to be helpful? Huh….. I gotta get better at reading the room

perhaps...although I didn't say you were one, I said you were like one with your "trade-Dame" approach as the answer to every Blazer question, and solution to every Blazer problem. I replied to:

And this is why we should trade Lillard

which you said for the 18,7,32nd time...'like' a broken record. Don't get me wrong, I replay my golden oldies all the time too, and obviously have a derangement issue by hanging out in this place

but maybe that's a little too Perry-Mason-in-the-FAQ by dancing around in that gray area that separates posters from their posts. sorry

I didn't call you fat. I said you LOOKED fat in those pants.

I think Vogel wants to keep Ayton. He already came out and said they aren't cutting CP3.

Not sure how we get salaries to match if it's just Nurk and filler.

If we include Ant I don't like it.

I do really like the idea of keeping #3. Ayton contract doesn't look bad when we're talking about paying Brown or Siakam 250+ million plus losing that pick. Next season salaries have to match in a trade so it's really only 1 additional risky year, then it's an expiring deal.

Was kidding. I’m all for calling me a fucktard if I’m acting like one

How much is it worth it to have a center who puts up 18/10 while playing on average in 75% of his games? We have had a guy who can't stay healthy. Nurk has missed half his games in the past four years.

Rather have Carter jr who will put up less point but equal rebounds and able to switch out. Complete no brainer

Won't demand shots. Most of the trades I see on here load up the team with guys who will want to get their shots. I'd like to see a couple additions of guys who don't have to get their looks, play very good defense, and most importantly...are very good rebounders.

I kinda might do Nurk and Ant for Ayton if Miller is there at 3. Dame, Shaedon, Miller, Grant and Ayton ain't a bad squad.
