I don't want to sound too down on Little Beav. He was drafted 2 years away from being an adequate starter. But not 2 years away from being 2 years away. Simons & McCollum needed 2 years, too. He'll climb from the bottom of some NBA stats I've seen quoted...what are they again?

Little Scooter will show increasing flashes each season until they're not flashes anymore. In Year 3 he'll be Average Scooter, and in Year 4 a Big Scoot. Not of the whole league, just of the team.

Man, he has a lot to learn. But he'll get there. Maybe a different coach would accelerate his BBIQ.

Adding 15 lbs of muscle doesn't make you taller.

unless you’re focused on working out the top of your head or the bottoms of your feet.

Calling a grown black man a child is how slave owners treated their slaves.

Maybe we should all just refer to him as "Sterling" until he becomes starter quality.

That's dumb. If names were what mattered then Cookie Belcher (actual name) would have been a fucking legend. Plus Scoot is nothing like Dion Waiters, whose major flaw was never passing.

    Bullcrap.
A child is a child. Black, white, latin, asian, fucking alien! you act like a child, be prepared to get called out. Don't use race as deflection. Thats complete bullshit.
Just because you are able to stretch the context like a rubber band, doesn't give any validity to your racist claim.

I didn't call him a child. I said he wasn't thinking in depth as he played. He went nuts when he did an ordinary thing right, pulling at his jersey and laughing like a maniac to the stands. (By the way, your "grown man" was a teenager except for the last 2 months of the season.)

I said he learned nothing from the supposed Ignite coaches, who from what I read were just rah-rah moral leader types to keep kids out of trouble in off-hours. In college basketball, a player has thousands of students for socialization, not just bars. The League agreed that Ignite players entered the NBA behind other rookies in BBIQ; the Ignite is no more.

An example of many plays was when Billups designed a play in time out. Little Scooter was to pass in. He must have had a lot on his mind, like what he was supposed to do during the play. Excited with too much energy, he tossed it beyond the catcher's reach out of bounds. The guy I designated our best player at the start of the season, former Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon with a Masters Degree, stood on the court realizing that everything Brogdon had been about to do in the play, the flow chart of if-thens, was up in smoke. Brogdon stood across the floor staring at Little Scooter with a shocked disgusted exasperated "What a moron" look. The Little One continued to make errors in the game; that wasn't the end of it.

The good news is that he decreased the silliness late in the season from like, league-worst, to high schooler with no college experience. I see improvement. He'll get there.
