It’s like Trouba never learned to stop taking dumb penalties in the playoffs. Same shit, different year.
That 3rd goal was a joke. First you had Trouba turn the puck over at center ice with a pass right to the Canes instead of getting it deep, then you had no backcheck on Guentzel, and lastly you had Gust doing an awesome job of covering the near goalpost instead of the front of the net. Lav should play that goal on a loop, because that is exactly the kind of goal that the Rangers cannot allow. Trouba has become pretty much useless, I know some got on him before, but since he has come back from injury his level of player has been repulsive. I don't know if he is hurting still or just horrendous, but it is glaring. That goal really pissed me off, because it was so unnecessary. Get the puck deep Trouba.
100%. I cannot even begin to understand what he is doing on that play. He is standing still by the near post closer to the goal line, so not even in the path of a centering pass, I don't get it. And again, it all started with a terrible turnover by Trouba at center ice instead of just getting it deep, literally passed it right onto a Canes stick. Really angers me.
