    Another excerpt

"Hood was reasonable enough from deep for the Blazers last season, knocking down 35% of his shots during his time in Rip City. That improved to 38% on corner threes, which wasn't great for his position but was still useful for Portland. The issue was that, while playing for the Blazers, Hood took almost three times more above-the-break threes than shots in the corner. He knocked down a dismal 32.3 percent from the curved part of the arc, which just wasn’t good enough."

This goes for most players.....Unless you are Dame don't fucking shoot the longer 3's. Stick to the corner 3s.

Looking at Basketball Reference, they appear to show Hood hitting 45% on threes from the corner as a Blazer last season. Am I missing something?

We don’t want Hood taking 3s. I’m cool with that 14 foot mid range day all day.

Well Daryl Morey also traded for Westbrook so he's a moron.

If we don't want Hood taking 3s, then we don't want him in our starting lineup.

I believe we already have 2 outstanding 3 point shooters already in our lineup, and I’m OK with Collins shooting from out there in the right situation.

That’s like asking whether you want to be kicked in the nuts or kicked in the teeth. Either choice sucks. Extremely glad we don’t have to make it......

I was referring to Morey wanting 3 point shots and not midrange. Westbrook is not gonna fit.

I'm okay with 4 3pt shooters and Whiteside/Nurk. I don't believe Hood would stay in the starting lineup if he can't hit >33% on medium volume from three. If Hood can't hit the three then whoever is guarding him will sag off and help in the middle and let him have those shots, just like they did ET (and Harkless and Aminu). Everything I hear from Olshey and Stotts indicates they are replacing Aminu and Harkless because they want people in those positions who can hit the three.

I've always thought of Hood as a big SG, with more of an old-school mid-range game. I'd rather see him be used that way than live on the perimeter, where he strikes me as a bit too streaky. On second thought, Stotts loves to have streaky forwards on the perimeter, so Hood is a natural fit there. At least he's a constant threat that must be respected, even when not dialed in.

Hood and Baze can create their own shot...and play defense...every player on this roster is going to shoot 3s when they are there on this roster other than some bigs...that's the least of my worries....Hood is a solid two way player and if any guard or forward bricks a jumper we have bigs who are damned good rebounders to get second chance pts....Ed Davis was that guy before

the fact that he gets the same amount of shots as Bazemore is ridiculous.

I hadn't even noticed that, and yeah, it's nuts

I guess the failure of Hezonja and Simons to be facilitators has meant Bazemore is really and truly siding into the Turner role. And in the Stotts offense, that means Bazemore is going to free-lance a lot of his own offense

by the way, FGA per 36:

    CJ McCollum 20.2 (points/shot = 1.06)
    Carmelo Anthony 19.7 (points/shot = 1.21)
    Damian Lillard 18.7 (points/shot = 1.44)
    Anfernee Simons 15.3 (points/shot = 1.18)
    Hassan Whiteside 13.1 (points/shot = 1.46)
    Kent Bazemore 12.4 (points/shot = 1.00)
    Nassir Little 11.1 (points/shot = 1.15)
    Skal Labissière 10.9 (points/shot = 1.29)
    Rodney Hood 10.2 (points/shot = 1.34)
    Mario Hezonja 9.1 (points/shot = 1.05)

    yeah, that's wacky
