Kelenic is a gym rat. He's incredibly strong, but he strikes out a lot. Highly competitive player. He could be a 30-35 tater guy if he can find the zone. He got so frustrated whiffing at the plate, he stomped into the dugout and kicked a wall or something, broke his foot. Missed a couple months of the season. The high octane talent is definately there, I'm surprised the Mariners gave up on Jared already.

Marco Gonzalez had to go. His softy lefty pitches don't fit the Mariners flamethrower strategy. An injury riddled season and unusually high salary placed him atop the Mariners cut list.

Kyle Lewis had the goods. In typical NW fashion, an early season "mild knee tweak" turned into a 2 year toradol injecting play through the pain process. We saw him a few times last year, he wasn't even 50% recovered on his knee injury.

Do they have a big trade/acquisition lined up? or is this action a pure salary dump?

Atlanta is the perfect place for Kelenic

He’s gonna keep getting better at the plate and he’s decent in the field. He’s his own worst enemy and his historically bad start to his career didn’t help in the slightest.

a change of scenery to an organization like Atlanta is perfect for him

I want him to succeed so bad, and even if that's not on my team and we traded him, I just want him to do well. You can tell he cares more than most and I want to see it translate.

It most likely will in Atlanta. And good for him. Cause our organization couldn't give two shits about the players or the fans. It's becoming really hard to support the team given all the good will from the playoff year.

When the dude who ended the drought is openly questioning wtf is going on (AND THAT WAS BEFORE THIS) you know you done fucked up. Now they are doubling down on the fucking up.

Yankees just swindled the best slugger from the Padres. Isn't that freakin' special.

Mariners could have easily matched aand/or surpassed that deal. Padres got fleeced.

Down goes Candelario as well. This is hell. I think if we don't do the Peredes/Aro deal and sign Snell, the fans will boycott. It's getting bad.

Maybe the Mariners should go after this guy?

They should, but they won't. The Mariners are the worst run organization in sports.

Rumor floating around that Ohtani wants an ownership stake along with a contract (literally only heard in one place so probably not true)

One of the comments: "Come to Seattle. You can have 46% of the team, since they only care about 54% of it anyway" lol I hate where we're at as an organization. Fuck my life.

Seattle is the perfect place for him. He would be a great piece to build around also.

I mean yeah, he'd be the best piece ever to build around. We have the ichiro card but our organization fucking sucks. If I was him I'd pick somewhere where the front office looks competent. Were like a worse Angels team lol.

the hitting coaches in Seattle would ruin Ohtani's career. For the sake of legendary baseball, anywhere but the Mariners is a better team for Shohei.

I guess the Padres are trying to snag Korean superstar Jung Hoo Lee.

Is it safe to say DIPSHITPOTO is the Olshey of the Mariners? Maybe even worse.

Stanton is telling him not to spend. We may get Soler, but the rest of our additions will be trades or buy low reclamation projects whose last good year was in 20-21. All of this over some cable deal. People will pay the extra money if he would put effort into aquiring talent, but ownership doesn't have the sack for it

I was a cubs fan as a kid but that waned in a couple years (1995 obviously) so for 25+ years I've been a BIG mariners fan.

We've lost tough games and we had Robbie ray inexplicably pitch in a clutch situation, but nothing has made me more pissed off than this off-season. There's no direction, there's no focus except to line their pockets.

I became a fan that exact same time. Griffey, Rookie A-ROD, Buhner, Edgar, Randy...that team was so damn fun. If they had a bullpen, I believe they would have won a championship. Bobby Ayala was the bane if my existence.
