Advanced stats, losing, and inefficiencies be damned. here are some videos of what this guy can do. I really hope he rediscovers the fire he had when he first got to Detroit to be a two-way monster before he became a sort of non-defending chucker. Draymond was saying how little motivation he had the past two years when they were losing every night-- hopefully, the apathy we saw from Grant towards the end of his time in Detroit was due to that, and he can give a shit again now.

Dude's got game, not enough game to carry one of the worst teams in the league but I think he has the game to be the second best player on a good playoff team and definitely be a 2b or 3 on a contender. So I think Joe is counting on Ant or Shaedon to pop and be this team's second best player with Grant as a worthy third option and defensive stalwart. If both Ant and Shaedon pop, this team could be something really special soon.

Grant is one of the seven - I like the two blocks on Doncic in quick succession:

Seven NBA Players Who Could Shape the 2022-23 Season

Also from the article:

Maybe, just maybe, the Thunder could reset the clock and deal SGA for a high-level player still on their rookie contract, plus even more picks or players. But who makes that offer: Portland with Shaedon Sharpe, Anfernee Simons, and future picks? Sacramento with Keegan Murray and a whole lot else? San Antonio making a desperate push to give Gregg Popovich a playoff roster? It’s a stretch to find a deal that works, but not impossible. Or maybe Oklahoma City should hold on to him and use him in another offer for the first pick if the Thunder don’t land it themselves. With the amount of talent and picks the Thunder have, anything is possible.

Call me a homer but I can't see making that deal even with how good Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is.

All pesimissm aside, it is pretty cool that we can throw out a lineup of:

GP2
Hart
Nas
Grant
Winslow

have that lineup play a matchup zone on select defensive possessions and you'll prolly come out with a stop against most teams.

That will definitely be a fun lineup to watch.

It would be tempting, depending on SGA's defense (which he's never really had to show in OKC). SGA is a legit star. Toronto is going to try to land him come hell or high water, though, and they could offer Fred VanVleet for starters.

I wouldn’t be interested either. Ant + Sharpe + even more 1sts for SGA is crazy, and I love SGA. If we make an all-in move, it has to be for a forward, not a guard.

SGA would actually make sense for TOR to go all-in on. They have a glut of really good forwards. We already have a star guard, and we’d have to trade out too much for the guy.

It’s not like Simons is half the player SGA is. And seeing the new Herro contract, I don’t feel nearly as bad about his new contract as I initially did. So him + Sharpe who I’m super high on + I’m guessing 2 1sts would be insane value.

On an average yearly basis, Ant will also be making $9m less. Ant + four cheap years of Sharpe—I’ll take that over SGA.

Hey, I did message you about this year's prediction game, did you receive it?

Kind of weird but I wasn’t thrilled with the acquisition. But in the time I’ve seen him play this year I think he’ll fit in nicely. He’s looked pretty solid even though it’s super early
