Rasheed wallace. Some of you asshats would only bitch about his personality instead of watching how great he was on the court. Andre miller was underrated his entire career. Loved that guy. Why did roy have to be such a buzzkill when it came to andre?
Exactly my point. Blazer fans didn't appreciate him enough because he was eccentric. In terms of general underratedness, i had andre miller in that same post too.
Love the 'Sheed, Augmon and Miller picks. I think Augmon was more underrated in his Hawks days, though. I loved having him on the Blazers--he really fit beautifully into the fleet of long, athletic defenders that Portland employed at their peak of that era (1999-2001). I'd pick Miller by a hair over Wallace. I think Wallace was awfully underappreciated for his excellence (and before his time--'Sheed would basically be the ideal power forward in today's game; great defense and offensive spacing out to the three point line? No one would be pissed about him not posting up more) but most fans generally accepted that he was the team's franchise player. I think Miller, though past his prime, got less credit than he should have for his fine play and steadying influence on the offense. I know PapaG resented Miller and I've always found PapaG to be an accurate bellwether for the forum.
For some reason I don't understand, he wasn't well liked in Portland. I bet they love him in Detroit, and Detroit thanks us.
Underrated by Blazer fans, or the rest of the league? Under-rated by the league....hell, i think almost all of our stars have been underrated. I'd probably go with Sabonis though, because most people didn't know how great he was here, even being hobbled. Among Blazer fans: probably Rod Strickland. He was a bit of a jerk, and no one will reminice on the "Rod Strickland"
I wouldn't have thought it possible but..... http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/di...r-being-one-of-the-untouchables.311935/unread
So, what's the 5-man all-underrated Blazers team (underrated/underappreciated by Blazers fans)? PG--Strickland or Miller or Anthony. Maybe Kenny Anderson? SG--Steve Smith or Juan Dixon? Bonzi, perhaps? SF--Pippen or Augmon? Patterson? PF--Sheed? Although I'd vote for Sidney Wicks... C--Do we have any underrated centers?
