Perhaps when I return, I'll consider offering that one...

Because. Targeting a guy via trade or in the draft is still targeting a guy.
Trading two picks to get one higher up is still a trade negotiation.

No he is not. Slightly above average starting center who is inefficient around the rim and plays solid defense so long as you don’t ask him to stray too far from the hoop. You’re letting 20 games from two seasons ago blind you.

Reality awaits you my friend just as soon as you let go of delusion.

You’re clueless. His numbers in those 20 games were pretty similar to what he put up this season. He actually turned the ball over less this year and graded out better defensively. Everything else was almost identical.

Is that why the market for him was so hot?

You guys need to get out and watch some other nba teams. Nurk is an ok player, not bad, but also nothing to be getting super excited about. Basically a younger marcin Gortat and making about the same money. You can’t play him 30+ minutes a night because of matchups. I like him fine but “get real” he’s not a top 10 center.

Nobody knows what he truly is yet. He's 23. At the place Nurk is right now Marc Gasol wasn't even in the NBA yet. Give him a bit of time. Some of those crazy floating whatever-they-ares becoming dunks and layups will do wonders.

What is your problem? Don't you dare bring in truth and logic to this forum. Either wear your Blazer Tinted Glasses or just spout useless stats until you bore others to death making them tap out.

He was a restricted free agent. That is almost never a good indication of how other teams view a player unless there is one team willing to overpay to get him. Not many teams needed a center or were willing to offer an amount high enough to where the Blazers wouldn't match.

Do you think a young Gortat could make one of the worst defenses in the NBA into a top-10 defense basically by himself?

There aren’t ten centers in the league with a better all around game than Nurkic.

I agree, but I don't really care. Nurk with more minutes from Baldwin and Collins should make us an amazing defense. Hopefully, that's what's we'll see. It's certainly what I'll be looking for this year.

He's still young and developing. I saw his skillset in Denver and could tell then, bigger things were in store for the bigman. That's why I wanted the Blazers to acquire him, way before the Nuggets let it be known he was on the market for trade.

And that's why he's untouchable. Because we don't know exactly what we have yet.

I feel like, at a similar place in CJ's career, there were some who were saying fans were foolish for not advocating trading him for Jahlil Okafor. Or Luol Deng. Then again, it was probably because they compared him to E-Will. Because they weren't sure what they had yet.
