In the name of personal freedom, freedom of expression, and in support of the spirit of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States, people should be allowed to sit, kneel, stand, or do handstands. I'd prefer they just stay in the locker room until the political indoctrination ceremony is over.

They wouldn't be doing this if it didnt affect their bottom line.

Blame the people who freak out about this and boycott the NFL because of it.

How about not doing national anthems at sporting events?

Kneeling seems a lot nicer than bending over.....

Honestly, kneeling is a sign of respect in many situations. Injured player. Praying. Asking for your true love's hand in marriage. I don't see the problem. If a certain someone who shall remain nameless hadn't turned this into a racist political football to purposely divide the country, it wouldn't be a big deal at all.

How about you don't play the stupid fucking anthem at sporting events because it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. NO OTHER COUNTRY DOES THIS (except at international competitions, when they play both).

Does this mean if players on BOTH sides do it, it cancels out?

    Offsetting penalties, haha.

    So nothing would have changed.

Is a ref going to stand at mid field and announce to the world before EVERY game that there were two off-setting infractions for not standing during the Anthem?

Yeah, that will make the controversy fade away.

How about the masses not getting butt hurt when someone does something outside of the perceived normal?

I’m fairly conservative(Not a republican), and the way the whole kneeling thing was construed into some anti-military, anti -American thing has always bugged me. Agree or disagree with of the things guys like Kapearnick has said and done but his goal was to bring attention to how bad racial tensions have gotten (especially in inner cities), and how cops have used there authority or (misused it). I’ve heard decent arguements agreeing and disagreeing with Some of the issues brought up, which ultimately is good in my opinion as conversation is a start to understanding people in different shoes than your own. However, kneeling during the anthem, was never about disrespecting the military, America, or any of that. It was about issues that still need to be discussed and worked on, it’s kind of sad that got lost on so many people.

My thoughts on kneeling... yes, players have the right to do it, but I don’t think it’s the right thing to do... even tho most the players don’t mean to disrespect the military, if even one military family who lost a family member feels it’s disrespectful, then they shouldn’t do it... those service members have sacrificed more than any of us ever will... and even tho this country is not perfect it’s still the most free country in the world... and if the point of kneeling for the anthem is to bring awareness to police brutality then it’s not working because the message has been lost because all the attention has turned to disrespecting the flag... these players if they really care have more resources at their hands to bring awareness than kneeling during the anthem

The masses tend to stand on two sides in America and both get offended whenever the guys on the other side say and do anything.

Citizens are free to stand or sit or whatever and that's fine. Employees do what their boss tells them or they get another job. Stupid employees think free speech applies to their jobs too--it doesn't. Stupid people also complain about the country they live in while making $5M/year and living in a gated mansion because they think that makes them edgy or something. I'll start believing they really care when they live in the hood and donate all that money to inner city agencies. Let me know when hell freezes over.
