This is a trade I thought of off the top of my head:

POR gets #45, Chuma Okeke

ORL gets Simons, #16

If Olshey’s gameplan is to try and get a guy like Scrubbs, he’ll have two 2nds to trade up to secure him. I wouldn’t do this trade if Bey was available, but more often than not, I see him gone by #16 on mock drafts.

ORL has also been trying to trade up, so having another mid-1st might get them towards #10 area.

That’s a horrific deal for Portland.
 
Maxey is a solid pick. Jaden seems 2 years out. I can't get a read on RJ Hampton. The New Zealand competition seems pretty weak and his numbers weren't good.

Im kind of liking Green because of his defense and athleticism. Maxey, Green, or Smith if we cant get acquire Bey or Nesmith.
 
The two guys that fit Portland’s “culture” the best to me are Hampton and Maxey. Both seem intelligent and willing to work. Bey too, but I doubt he’ll even be there.
 
Not many can step in right away and help.

You either go upside or take the safe route.

Tillman IMO is one of the few that can help Portland right away with his NBA-ready defense.
 
I'd be very disappointed IF Blazers draft Jaden McDaniels...why? Sure he's talented but he's also a bit of a head case and not ready to play now like Saddiq Bey or even Aaron Nesmith!

Guarantee he goes to Golden State or (God help us) the Lakers. Or possibly Miami.
 
Pretty simple... unless you're looking for a defensive ace, in this era how could you not draft a player that wasn't a solid shooter from three.

I wouldn't say he was a headcase, but in games I watched he didn't seem to have much of a motor or show determination to win.
 
Just from a build/measurments standpoint, if we could get Robert Woodard or Paul Uboua at #46, I'd be perfectly happy. They have tremendous length and the ability to guard multiple positions.

Player.......Height.....Stnd'ing Rch.....Weight.....Wingspan....Max Vert
Woodard....6'7"............8'9.5................230............7'2"..............38"
Uboua........6'7.5"..........9'0".................222.............7'3.5"...........??

Neither can shoot much. Woodard improved dramatically to .429 from three point range while Eboua is much lower at .258 and his shot isn't very smooth as of now. Would absolutely take Woodard first, but anytime I can get that type of athleticism and length that late in the Draft, I'm interested.

Yep. I'd be happy if the Blazers had the opportunity to grabbed Nesmith at #16.

I'm not too high on Woodard although at 46 if the coaching staff thinks he has the the ability to grow into his body I'd be fine.

I would also be thrilled at 46:
Paul Reed, Yam Madar or Abdoulaye N'Doye. I think Yam will be a big sleeper. The dude never stops, aggressive and a dogged defender. But at 46, everyone left is a a hope and a prayer.

Tyrese Maxey reminded me of Jamal Murray. Jamal is a little bit bigger, probably 6-foot-5 but the same kind of player — on the ball, off the ball, fight to defend, deflect balls, rebounds above the rim. I laugh, every day I walked in the kid had a smile on his face. It’s a spirit about him of what he could do. You look at him, what you see, where you think he could be, he goes.

Our kids here are not pigeon-holed into one position; they’re taught basketball. When you watch him, how he shoots it, his runners, his handle, his physicalness, if anybody passes on him in a certain range, it’s kinda like gonna be the Jamal thing; he’s going to be that guy.
 
These “experts” that keep chirping about Portlands need for a wing, literally none of them have even mentioned Nassir Little’s name. It’d be one thing if they mentioned why he wasn’t an option going forward, or why the blazers needed to upgrade him, but it’s like he doesn’t even exist. When you consider how this team operates with young players, it’s really ignorant. Same shit happened last year with Trent... the only time his name was ever mentioned was as a throw in to make contracts work in theoretical trades lolz. A ballhandling guard (or wing I guess) to take responsibility off Dame/CJ (although in the short term I prefer it to be a vet) and bigs, specifically a four, are bigger needs imo.

Little and Gabriel both seem to have the motor and the drive (and some unique physical skills) to make a solid jump this coming season.

Good points for sure as of now I see Trent as strictly a two guard unless we are playing small ball, and Hood his coming off a really tough injury plus Ariza isnt along term guy, I dont believe. Im hoping that Naz can improve his shooting and become a legit 3, but I see him more as a junk yard dog off the bench. I would still draft a knock down shooter but don't acer if its a three or 4. Look what Miami did with two knock down shooters youngsters.
Jalen Smith can shoot the rock as a 4.

His tools and shot creation ability give him some somewhat interesting upside, but I think the floor is pretty low.
