I'm trying out tomorrow. Can't wait. Haven't shot a ball though since I drained three straight threes at the Moda Center. I'll let you know how I do!

Some advice from a coach if you want it

    1. Holding a ball may seem like the right move, but it's best to pass it around, so everyone gets to touch it.

    2. Come hard to the ball

    3. Pound it up the middle when you see an opening

    4. When going inside, make sure the lane is not clogged.

    5. Work the high low post.

    I'm such a child, but I don't care

In all seriousness, have a great time, and good luck.

Why is there a Gay Men's Basketball League? are straights afraid to play against gay people?

You're getting old, like the rest of us. Admit it to yourself, and Embrace it! That means stretching out your legs, arms, neck, everything - take 10-15 minutes to do this before you play. Don't just show up, shoot baskets for 10 minutes, and start playing - that's a recipe for injury for older players. Have fun, don't play defense, set some screens.

lol yea, playing defense in the paint especially can be a very regrettable decision.

Tell them that on the basketball courts of Oregon you're more famous than Travis Outlaw.

Now you just have to learn to play some defense. I hit that fade away on you pretty easily

I've already worked out your marketing persona for endorsement deals.

You're a hot-headed 3-Pt specialist that commits cheap fouls and leads the league in techs and ref abuse.

I think that's bullshit if you ask me..... how do they make sure you are eligible to play in that league? We had two gay guys in our city league we used to play in. It was no big deal. Sports should be bringing all walks together FAMS!
