The whole trans issue is an issue because the party of "freedom" are upset that they do not have the freedom to dictate to others how to live their life. A shame, but that's what hypocrisy looks like.

People should be happy, in whatever manner it works for them and it's not anyone elses business to dictate what is happiness.

Strawman argument. Most conservatives are against allowing children to drive, purchase alcohol/firearms etc, so they thus should not be allowed to permanently mutilate/damage their bodies. So there is no hypocrisy there. Have you listened to the testimonies of those who regret being sucked into the cult?

Can you share a link to these testimonies?

Kids driving and purchasing alcohol and firearms puts people around them in danger. This is worthy of a law.

If a doctor deems there is a medical necessity for a child to have surgery we call that "treatment". Not mutilation or damage.

We have oversite boards of medical professionals who can revoke the license of doctors who prey on patients or convince patients to make decisions which are opposed to their own well-being.

Facebook is not a reliable source of information. I'm not going to be watching those videos.

Your thefp.com link shows that people are getting medical approval. That is the correct way to do it. As our medical professionals learn more they will get better at making this determination. But this is where the responsibility should be. Not with lawmakers who don't understand any of this.

Those are the testimonies of actual people, it doesn't matter where it's posted. I see this reaction a lot of times from people as an excuse to not look at the evidence they asked for. Did you read the article from thefp? It shows how much of this action is being guided by a cultish ideology rather than by rationality, and a lot of harm is being done, which is why the same principle of "age of consent" should apply to these "medical interventions" that term is used to soften the blow of what is actually being done, cutting off parts of the body and messing with a minors physical development. Puberty is very important to the developing brain and skeletal system for example.

We're just saying, leave kids out of it.

But you don't get a say. And you shouldn't.

The only people who should have a say are the medical professional as well as the parent (and of course it goes without saying that the child should have a say as well). If you want to advocate for boards who are more resistant to bias then that is a discussion we can have.

If you want to advocate for better education so that parents understand how to get second opinions and how to identify bias and misinformation I'm right there with you. That's what policy makers SHOULD be working on.

Conservatives certainly have no problem allowing young children to work in adult occupations with little or no protections. That would fall under the "hypocrisy" category.........

Lovely that they’re using the COVID deaths of service workers as the excuse to repeal child labor laws.

No better way to "protect the children" than to put them back to work in factories.
