I have no idea how this will turn out or what it will show. I just thought I'd mess around and compare Sharpe's rookie season to other player's rookie seasons:

(Klay was nearly 3 years older, played 3 seasons in the Pac-12, and started 29 games)

I'm not sure there's any significant take from any of that. A lot of rookies struggle because of youth and inexperience; and Sharpe is younger than almost all rookies who have entered the NBA in the one-&-done era, and had less experience than almost all

Sharpe needs to improve in a lot of areas. He especially needs to learn how to draw fouls because his FT rate is anemic

I want to see how he does in SL. That’s where young guys can show if they’re capable of dominating as the number one option. Obviously SL isn’t the end all but it’s still a bit of a litmus test.

I want to see how he does in SL with Victor as his teammate.

All Kobe did in his rookie season was dunks lol. Dude Sharpe got flashes of being a 3 level scorer. He just isn’t able to get in a rhythm like Simons, dame, and Grant can. Also his defense have come a long way since the beginning of the year

Idk we’ll see

See what I mean? Another garbage game. I’m telling u if he didn’t have nice dunks nobody would think he’s anything

Dude... he's a 19 year old rookie who hadn't played in over a year. I don't know what you expected from him. He's a project.

He’s weak as fuck imo. I would package him in a heartbeat if it helps us

no, not that Viktor...this one:

The kid shows flashes! I'm not some sunshine and rainbows fan, I like to think I can see players for who they are, and this kid has a chance to be special. The question is can he put it altogether to be great or will he end up just another good NBA player. I think too many of us take for granted how hard it is to make that jump from good to great!

Sharpe is going to put it together, I truly believe that. The question is, will he do it during Dame's Time or after? Also, do we want to pair him with Ant or do we trade Ant + ? to get a SF and put either GPII or Hart next to Lillard to start. I don't think Sharpe is ready to start unless we've given up on the season in which case, definitely start Sharpe and give him all the touches you can.

I'm comfortable with waiting. We knew the risks when we drafted him. The options were take a flyer on Sharpe or go get someone like Sochan who is going to be nothing more than a role player his entire career.

Looks like he can be an above-average rebounder any time he decides to.
I sure wish both Sharpe and Walker were getting more playing time.
The goal for the Trail Blazers should be to get better, not win games. They are not mutually exclusive.

I want to see him rebound more and get more assists/stats in his boxscores. But I'm really happy with what he's doing (tho he is a bit inconsistent at times, but that's to be expected).

What does this post even mean? :dunno:

I'll soil myself and be the Eeyore interpreter for this post

he trying to say that Sharpe is the most talented player Portland has drafted in a long time only because he's the highest draft pick Portland has had since they drafted Dame. It's a way to dismiss Sharpe, but ironically, to get to that dismissal he has to back-door acknowledge what a positive impact Dame has had for Portland

It's not that ironic because @AldoTrapani is incredibly erratic when it comes to Dame, one minute he is complaining about feast or famine and telling us how he told us that Dame's not a superstar or is washed and the next minute he's talking about how he feels sorry for Dame because he's so great and this organization is such shit or how he's a superstar that will never get the chance to play with another superstar and he likes to guarantee shit like a child speaking in absolutes. The only consistent qualities about Aldo's takes are that they are negative and with the exception of simple predictions they make very little sense.

The dude (or dudette) is trolling everyone. He doesn't believe half of what he types.

It's probably Mixum. That was his MO. Nothing new.

I really don't think it's someone trolling at least not in the classical sense. Aldo believes the bullshit that he spews, it's not just to get a rise out of people. The dude is just incredibly negative and doesn't really understand what's going on most of the time. Terrible takes not meant to get a response but made because he thinks they are somehow legitimate.
