A very inaccurate statement. The dems have been in power in Oregon close to 35 years. They were in power in the City of Portland at-least since they built the Max down to the center of hell.
Really? So was the old one. Well, the bus lines into town do not go there. Coming in from Scappoose or Hayden Island, I ended up at Salmon St.
No, the old one (up till the 80's) was around where you got off the bus recently, 6th & Salmon (or thereabouts). There are plenty of city buses that go to the current greyhound station, as does the MAX. You might have to transfer downtown, though. barfo
There are many older folks who are homeless too. I agree the ability to earn a living has been nearly eliminated with high rent and inflation. Sorry, the original greyhound station was before my time here. I know of only the one right next to union station.
That's not the old one in your photo. That's the current one (since 1985). The old one was about 1.25 miles south on 6th avenue... Edit: I looked it up, it's actually only 0.7 miles to 6th & Salmon. barfo
Right! Well I guess memories differ. Well anyway, the buses do not go there anymore. The doors are locked and blocked with horizontal folks.
Maybe you went to the wrong door? It's definitely still in operation. There's a bus leaving for Eugene at 6:25 today, tickets are $23. www.greyhound.com barfo
Most people are younger than someone in his 80's. There are all sorts of methods of transportation to get you to Amtrak from 6th and Salmon including the Max. Learn your routes.
Not sure what difference it makes here. No one in there, and people laying in the door way. It sure did not look useful. I did only try one door. Never saw a bus either. Not like the old days. The main point was the other buses do not come to the area, so it is quite a walk. In days gone by, all the bus lines converge at one spot. It was Taylor, only two block less than Salmon, but it sure seems far now, to the train station, a lot more stuff going down on the way now. "10/31/2018 (Portland, OR) Absolutely DISGUSTING bus station. Completely surrounded by homeless people and the smell of urine and excrement. In fact, as I was entering the station, a man was urinating on the greyhound station's walls with the entirety of his member out in the middle of the sidewalk in broad daylight. I was HORRIFIED. OMG. My bus was also cancelled while I was waiting inside. The cancellation notice was given at the time that the bus was supposed to arrive and there were no other buses that day back home. I had to immediately make other plans. I then had to call customer service to get a refund on the ticket. They tried to give me a voucher but no way in hell am I ever going to take Greyhound ever again." https://www.yelp.com/biz/greyhound-bus-lines-portland-3
My wife and I used to grill chicken gizzards and livers which we would dip in a small bowl with plenty of salt on the bottom and sesame oil poured over the top. All this was washed down with a truly ice cold bottle of beer. We would do that about five or six times a year. Now, with my disability, I can no longer do the grilling like I used to and we eat that about once a year. Excuse me but occasional lamenting helps to ease the pain.
Oh hell yeah. Some neighbors called it The Blood Bucket. And when Nike was just starting out, they rented the space next door to the Pink Bucket (before they moved down to the west end of the Burnside Bridge. But that was back when they were still peddling Onitsuka Tigers). The Foster/Powell area was an interesting place to grow up in the ‘60’s. Not exactly seedy but you could certainly see it from there.......
Trump is so ■■■■ed. Flynn's information is "beyond damaging" to Trump, Pence and their cohorts. What a time to be alive
