Even though we are dealing with Masai, it makes some sense to trade him to the Raptors.

Watching the Highkin interview with Raptors fans, they seemed open to the idea of picks, Barnes, GTjr, Young, Boucher, porter to get Dame to the Raptors with OG, Poetl, Pascal and Shroeder.

The idea would be to reroute either Simons or Gtjr for more picks.

Barnes + filler and picks would get my attention, especially if we could get something for GTJr in another move.

I would LOVE for the Blazers to be able to get Barnes from the Raptors... I'm not even a massive fan of his, but he'd be a great addition to our core.

And the Raptors would instantly get so much better, as Dame would add perimeter shooting at a position that they are in trouble after losing Van Fleet... but everything I've every heard or read is that Barnes is the future and isn't going anywhere.

OG being the key piece to a Dame deal with Toronto seems more realistic from Toronto's perspective, but I don't think adding OG makes sense for the Blazers given he's about to get paid and he's older than our young back court.

I think the Raptors do have a lot they could offer.

Can someone post the link to the Highken/Raptors podcast? I'm not sure which one he did.

OG might be more realistic from the way they see their players' value, but I have a hard time seeing Dame wanting his buddy -- whom he's been begging us to trade for for years -- to be the piece that leaves...

It's a bit ironic in that sense that if we really did trade him to Toronto, Dame's own maneuvering could result in a better package for us...

Dame would want OG to stay in Toronto though. I agree it is unlikely they move on Barnes, but their fans seem open to the idea.

You can take out Boucher or Porter Jr and insert Thaddeus Young on 1 year 8 million if they preferred to keep either of the other guys.

Shit, I might be happy with this deal and just asking for their 2016 unprotected pick.

I'm guessing it's this (just watching it now, so not sure, but it's 6 hours old):

Barnes would be a get for sure. I would think he is off limits but you never know. OG would be at least mandatory. Trent I am not sure he fits.

Yeah, Barnes + filler + a first or two... I do that immediately, personally. Although of course it would be great if there were something better out there. :)

Toronto makes the most sense player wise.

But we better get those picks.

Attempt to move Nurk and Simons for Claxton, Simmons and picks.

If the Raptors could get Dame without giving up Siakam or OG and Barnes is still off limits. I question how much they really want another championship. The Raptors have a lot that they could offer.

What about this? We could move Siakam for picks/cap relief or try to keep him and run out:

    Scoot
    Simons/Sharpe
    Barnes
    Siakam
    Nurk

Which actually isn't too bad, given how young it is.

I intentionally had no draft picks coming back to us, so it might not be enough, but I think the Grant contract is terrible and he seems like he might actually be a good fit with OG in Toronto.

I’ve been eyeing Toronto as the best fit for a Dame trade since VanVleet jumped ship. Barnes would be a perfect fit with the timeline of Sharpe and Scoot. Dame added to a mix of Siakam, OG and Poeltl is an instant threat in the East. Dame has been asking for Siakam and/or OG for a long time. This way he gets them both. Biggest reality check: Masai Ujiri’s ego.
