So...? Does Harry Giles mean Gabriel's gone? I hope not - I think he did enough in the bubble to deserve coming back. He would be a lot more useful than Melo, for example.

Gabriel removed being a Blazer from his social media. He's gone

That's too bad. He was probably the 3rd best defender on the team last year (Ariza/Trent) and probably the best big at being able to switch out on to the perimeter. He showed he had the ability to hit shots and should be able to improve on that. Was hoping he would be back in some capacity.

I like wenyen but he was very raw.
Nobody has signed him yet...that should tell you something.
Harry Giles is a big upgrade. We will soon forget about wenyen

    Agreed.

Olshey is right up against the tax line (~$600k below) with how the roster sits right now. He's not going to make any more moves until near the trade deadline.... I was hoping that he'd bring Gabriel back on a min contract and giving CJ2 a 2-way contract.

Is Gabriel even eligible for a 2-way at this point?

As raw as he is, Gabriel on the court is still worth more than Giles in street clothes.

No question about who has more skills. Giles just hasn't been able to stay on the court.

I liked Gabriel, but it's not like we're missing out watching the next Jermaine O'Neal. He looked so good because of who he was playing up against (we had a year of seeing Tolliver, Bazemore and Mario...almost anyone would appear to be a huge improvement).

It wasn't just his play that I liked about him: he was a genuinely decent person and actually seemed to find playing basketball a joyful experience (contrast: Anfernee). Yeah, I know that counts for jack shit, but there you go.

Hold on homie...... did you just type that Wenyen would be "more useful" than Melo? In the NBA? This season? You are going to have to follow this up with some reasons as to why you believe this right?
Ask Dame who he would want on the court with him this season.
I wish there was a button to push that could kick you off this site! I'd push it!

Never seen do much hand wringing over a G league caliber player at best.

Right. Neil talking today about how he was focusing on getting defensive players this year and then he forgets about Gabriel? Maybe it's Gabriel's choice; maybe he has an offer from a club that can use him more? I wish one of the reporters had asked Neil something about him.

Wenyen is the superior defensive player and I was excited to see his contributions this season but Giles is much more talented.
