I'm kinda amazed Cronin got off of GP2 as quickly as he did and with some value at all.

Though it was still a weird signing in the first place.

I accepted the Billups hire like everyone else had to but I thought he should've been President/GM. I was clamoring to bring Ime Udoka home to Portland. It's what we should have done.

Bro, get over yourself. You ain't pulled no receipts. Your video proved me correct. You saw 2 off ball things from Dame in that video. Pipe TF down...

You also have no answer for Terry's lackadaisical ass defense either.

Agree 100%. Udoka was who I would have preferred as well.

This is incorrect. I believe there was 2 on ball screens for Dame in 9 minutes. Far from the "pick and roll after pick and roll." claim you continue to attempt to stand behind. Not sure why you continue to double down on something that has been proven to be false.

Chauncey deserves one season with a healthy, non tanking roster. Until then all judgements are superficial and not based on substance. Like most posts in this forum….

Not sure how Terry could've used Nurk correctly against Golden State in the playoffs? The year we beat the Nuggets he had a broken leg. When we beat the Clippers we still had Plumlee.

Oh yeah forgot about 2017 when the Blazers played Golden State in round 1. Nurk sat out injured in 3 of 4 games totalling 17 minutes that series. Guess Terry screwed up utilizing Nurk that year too.

Terry Stotts coached a top 10 defense and top 10 offense before Wes went down...he also won Western conf coach of the month 6 times and got to the WCF once with a one armed center and a pt guard with a core injury. Hee also faced a team that mowed down everyone in the playoffs in the Warriors.... Chauncey has won nothing....Terry is by far the better coach and it's not close. Terry took 179 players to the playoffs in Portland. He had one horrible series in New Orleans but other than that players had career years under his coaching. Very few went on to become as successful on their next teams. I also believe that if Olshey hadn't fired Terry, Dame would still be here. I like Stotts....I like Chauncey as a person but his coaching has holes in it especially when it comes to the endgame and in bounding the ball plays. Personally I'd fire Chauncey tomorrow but I know Joe won't do that. I hope Chauncey becomes as good a coach as Terry. We'll see.....we are 29th in offense under Chauncey and 23rd in defense....that's the elephant in the room ....Stotts Blazers almost always made a push after the all star break and Chauncey tanked all 3 seasons. On a personal note, I enjoyed Stotts era and I've hated Chauncey's era so far.

No, I say so because it's so.

"Deserves" means he has done something so he's entitled. Yes he's had a shitty roster, but other coaches have made silk purses out of sows arses (including the much-maligned Doc Rivers, in Orlando). You can't keep saying year after year that "it's not the coach's fault" - he has to show evidence that there isn't somebody better. And from what I've seen, there are a lot of other people more deserving of coaching us next season.

Sorry, No because you arent on the inside and paid.
Everyone is free to speculate but in my opinion, to believe matter of factly without being on the inside, privy to meetings and discussed agendas, there is nothing concrete to pass judgment on.

I am paid. I'm not on the inside though. Maybe you should realize that guys on the inside tend to make a million excuses for the guys they cover?

How is being in "meetings" relevant to discussing what's happening on the floor?

its been my experience its the guys not on the inside that make excuses as to why they are right and the ones on the inside are wrong.
Being in those meetings would shed some light on what Billups has been instructed to do, which could be a huge factor in what he did.

But the one thing visible on the court that is irrelevant to the meetings is his relationship with the players and how he is or is not able to motivate them. i already stated my opinion on that.

in the nba, do you run schemes or set you know you cant succeed at based on the level of talent the clach has at his disposal, or do you stick with what the players can potentially succeed at, Like effort?
