I read the Bautista book previously and just finished the Timmy D. book. The mob ties are really unsubstantiated. While without a doubt I still think there is still alot that could be cleaned up within the officiating ranks, I do not think Foster is throwing games for the mob or anyone else.

Still think calling goal tending from half court was him trying to do too much though.

It could have been ego, but I still think it was a decision. It was such an inexplicably bogus call that it had to have had something behind it. It simply defies explanation. I'm certain the NBA is investigating it behind the scenes. How could they not?

I think I'll thank the Rockets' defense and offensive execution for giving up a 10 point lead with less than four minutes left.

There is so much irony in Houston fans complaining about the refs.

    Your tears are delicious.

Being an NBA referee is like being a Supreme Court Justice.

It's a lifetime gig no matter what laws you break, who you sell your soul to, or how many trusting Americans you cheat.

Even when everyone knows you're a disgrace to the human race, so what?

That video is 15 minutes but worth every second. Excellent analysis. The guy (he's neutral, not a Rockets fan) reminds us every time Foster makes a mystery call. But the main thrust is to call out every error by players, coaches, and referees, not just Foster.

Foster did a good job of holding back Bennett "I high five McHale" Salvatore's corruption. Two wrongs do make a right... Or at least a neutral.

Come on now man. Good video, but the fact that you point to it to support your "refs screwed ONLY us" schtick is a complete fail.

Yeah there were some blown calls, but again,

    - 1:37 phantom contact foul on Lillard (Favors Rockets)

    - 2:17 no charge call on Lillard (Favors Blazers)

-3:47 no call on Harden where he should have had free-throws (Favors Blazers)

    - 4:55 on the video, Harden allowed to change pivot feet and score (Favors Rockets)

    - 6:40 there was a loose ball foul on Dwight. Regardless of what this guy says. You can see all of the contact there under the basket. (Favors Rockets)

    - Yes Mathews did travel 5 seconds earlier. But that shit was going on the ENTIRE game. (Favors Blazers)

    - 7:28 there was no reach in there on Mathews. At least not visible to the video replay. (Favors Rockets)

10:36 Travel on Dwight wasn't called (Favors Rockets)

10:38 Instead phantom foul on Lopez (Favors Rockets)

12:10 Phantom call on Bev (Favors Blazers)

12:37 Phantom call on the Blazers wrapping Garcia up. Should have been a jump-ball. (Favors Rockets)

12:48 Phantom call on the Blazers giving Dwight free throws (Favors Rockets)

13:48 The Houston reason they lost game 1 call. Phantom call on Dwight. (Favors Blazers)

    Total Rocket Favors -- 8
    Total Blazers Favors -- 5

So as this video goes, Houston had more ref 'gifts'.

The Blazers got all (ALL) the first half calls. But the second half went to HOU. The fix was in, but it was for HOU. The refs called the game for us early so they could make sure HOU had the momentum calls as the game ended. Nearly every call in the final minutes and OT went in HOU's favor - HOU was given every opportunity to win the game. But they didn't. One call (Freeland/Howard) went in our favor, but it's impact is negated 5 times over due to all the other calls that went in HOU's favor prior to that call.

That the thing about 'fixing' a game...It has to be 'seemingly' all over the place...random call here and then there. They can't completely hand the game to the other team anymore but it sure seemed like it in the first half....not a single free-throw for the Rocket? Inconceivable! (yes i know it means what i think it means). I love we walked out of there with a win, but its scary what 1 ref can do to a game. New rules should include:

    1) Refs at various positions on the court shouldn't be allowed to make a call if they are so far from the play (ie at half court and you see a tip out of bounds under the basket).
    a) If said call is made then its open for video review.

    2) Coaches get challenges like in Football. Someone on the coaching staff is wired into the broadcast teams truck and can get a quick YES or NO to say "Hey coach we need to challenge this!"
    a) If challenge is made and overturned, then no timeout used.
    b) if challenge is made and upheld, then 20 second time out used.
i.) If no 20 second time outs remain a full time out is used
ii.) If no more time outs exist then Coach is assessed a Technical Foul.

Yes...this might slow up a game just a bit...but I think you put pressure then on the league to ensure that the ref staff (majority rule) gets it right. Not flawless, but that's never the intent in sports. You live with a call or 2 that are wrong, even with review.

Hence Why Kevin McHale looked as if a family member had died in the post-game presser. He knew that his team had every-chance to win the game but utterly failed to do so, even with all the help.

You know you are a shitty coach when you have the best center and 2 guard in the nba, allowed to play 8 on 5 and have home court; yet miss the money shot.

    LOL. No, you're not.

Get over it. Your Rockets choked hard. They'll bounce-back.

i'm sorry you got that impression from my post. harden and dwight both had awful offensive games (and harden defensive, but isn't that a given?) if everyone on the rockets play as well as they did the first game and harden or dwight have at least an average game, then the rockets should win every time.

the refs certainly didn't do the rockets any favors, but the rockets didn't do themselves any either. without aldridge having more career nights i don't think the rockets should be concerned.

also mchale needs to get his head out of his ass

So then, you admit that the game wasn't decided by refs calling the game in favor of Portland? It was, in fact, the Rocket's poor play and LMA/Dame's great play.
