He's only 22 months younger than Simons.

Yes, he is very old for a rookie.

    Not a great wingspan.

I don't think #1 but perhaps 2 or 3. The #1 pick has a historical perception that will look like the Hawks got fleeced in a trade that their management won't want to accept, even if experts grade the trade as fair value for this years #1.

So he's also a couple years older than Sharpe - entering his 3rd season.

I don't know about that - I'd say there is much much lower expectations for this Blazers draft than any in many years. I had much higher expectations for the Sharpe/Scoot picks prior, during, and after the draft.

#7 this year feels like we'll get a Nassir Little/Anfernee Simons level of prospects and those guys were taken at #24/25. #14 is like the Gary Trent second rounder we acquired, or perhaps Kegglle Murray last year, taken in the first round but less intriguing than most 2nd rounders. Swaningan is probably another fair comp for #14 level of prospect.

I will always be excited to read about who we finally end up with at draft night, but I just have such little interest to learn more about any of these guys right now this year.

Probably the last time a team tried to build around somebody remotely as big and slow is the Yao Rockets. I wonder what team will decide they can find a way to exploit his strengths and minimize his weaknesses.

Not great, but not terrible either. His defensive effort, techniques and instinct are plenty good, wingspan notwithstanding.

it's getting rough on 1080 Danny the Fan. He started one podcast calling Blazer fans dumb. Thanks big guy, appreciate the love.

Check out this other segment, Marang was about to preach about the Dame trade, "Did the Blazers get ANY impactful players in the Lillard trade?"

    Dusty said YES... Ayton

Danny slams on the brakes, and begins screaming at the kids in the backseat with his go to comp: "Look at OKC you little brats !!"

the harping begins at 2:10 of this pod. I just laughed and turned it off

I shared a wall with Dusty in the dorms at College, unfortunately I can't listen to his show...

By and large, a lot of sports fans are dumb. Or maybe casual is the better word. They don’t know shit. People on this forum are obsessed freaks and most fans don’t even come close to the amount of useless knowledge that we have here.

I use to like listening to dusty with whoever he had. But I can't with Danny. Like I said, he just likes to hear himself speak and just comes off as a weasel.

So of course he's lasted the longest. Miss having something to listen to between 12-3.

I think it's difficult for some people in sports media with addictive personalities to 'not read the comments', or more importantly, not respond to them.

because if you do those things, you end up in a warped echochamber of negativity that doesn't necessarily reflect reality or the consensus view.

marang seems like he's already through that looking glass and down that rabbit hole.

Well, here’s his problem….. he works in radio. Most of the fans who listen to the radio and call into the radio are very casual. If I was going to base an opinion on blazer fans solely on the smooth brains who call into radio shows, I would think Portland was full of a bunch of mouth breathers.

In Newberg, there's Danny with glee,
Anfernee's his love, can't you see?

But his goatee's greasy, his hat's backward too,
His affection for Simons, oh, how it grew.

He yells on the airwaves, his passion unchained,
But forgets to flush, his reputation stained.

It’s absolutely his problem: the other team media seem unbothered by comparison. Guy needs to relax—the Heat fans have moved on to their own troubles.

Was this the Locked on NBA podcast? Yeah, they were saying Buzelis and Williams were "shooting knuckleballs," which I take to mean too much side spin and under 2 revolutions. Seems like an easy fix. Chip should be able to fix that for Williams if he heads to OKC.

I wouldn't be terribly upset. Personally, I'm liking #7 - Castle and #14 - Missi. But who knows how things will shake out.

One of Williams, Knecht, Buzelis, Risacher, Holland is going to drop to the 12-14 range. I'd like to see who first.

We run a switch heavy defense. Lets see how Edey handles these scenarios in personal workouts because those agility drill results are pretty impressive for someone his size.

Yeah the Locked On Big Board podcast.

They were saying basically no spin at all.
