We will "...morph into that team that nobody wants to play because they know they will be hurting the next morning" & Vonleh will do big things for us (I hope for some consistency this yr. w/ those things but don't count & that & that's np w/ me, he'll get there for sure though:wink:).:ygrin:

Alexander's a big question mark though.; he's a gamble but we didn't risk much to get him & he's definitely worth having w/ us. I am pulling for the guy & I'm excited to see what he brings & to watch him improve.

I think it is because Olshey keeps talking about him in the core. What Stotts sees may be very different. I like Aminu, but I'm still hoping Harkless or Crabbe really step up on both ends of the court and push Aminu to the bench.

Aminu is our highest paid player on the roster at the moment. My guess is they're expecting him to start.

Yes he is an unknown. He just seems like a guy with a great body and skill set who has never really had a chance. My biggest concern with him is wondering how in the world we got lucky enough to get him. Is there something we didn't see? No cost, but still. This guy was a easily a top 5 recruit one year ago and we got him for nothing? Good karma?

No. I'm assuming he'll start because there isn't anybody better at SF, and he's the highest paid (and highest-touted FA signing).

Man people are really down on Aminu, dude is just gonna be turning 25 this month... And has been on teams with mostly better players at his position.

Rookie (20): Didn't get a lot of run, then traded.

2nd year (21): Sat behind Ariza

3rd year (22): Started most of the season (27mpg) and played decently

4th year (23): Split minutes with Tyreke Evans

5th year (24): Sat behind Parsons... Had breakout playoffs

I was more excited about him until his lackluster performance in afrobasket. He looked like Batum without the scoring ability. I was hoping he would really step it up and show something. The dude only averaged 12 points against Angola, Tunisia, etc. and averaged 3.3 turnovers (and 27% from Intl 3 line). I hope he shows better down the road, but my expectations are pretty low right now.

It's international play, big whoop. His team still won the tournament, if Lillard went and played for USA and played sub-par would you be worried?

I don't need Aminu to be all-world. He just needs to come in and play defense, rebound and hit the occasional shot.

No, it's continental play. And that continent is pretty crappy at basketball.

It depends on what you want. If what you want is somebody with the skills of a PF who's a very good defender, then yes, there's nobody better on our current roster. If you want passing and shooting, most people in the NBA are probably better.

Hes not that good. Hes a great defender and thats about it. Its why when the CAP sky rockets his contract is very cheap

By that reasoning our starters are easy to set:
Aminu, Davis, Henderson, Kaman and Lillard!

    There, that was easy.

    Wow, that is very interesting.

It just goes to show how shrewd Olshey is. Two years ago he was tasked with putting together a roster that could compete for a championship, and he did it. Now he's rebuilding on the fly by getting undervalued youngsters with huge upsides and seeing which ones actually have something special. Most won't, a couple will, and there's your core.

Sure beats tanking and praying for a high lotto pick.

If we wanted passing and shooting we wouldn't have traded Nic.
