Free Agent Jeremy Lin??

For the right price I'd take him as out back-up PG - could do a lot worse.

If you're rebuilding with young guys, the veterans you get should be guys who they can look up to and can bring some excitement to games for the fans. Lin could be that, and could also throw in some much-needed points at times.

With Lillard defense I don't think we need an offensive PG. I'd want a player that can lock down an opponent PG even if he sucks offensively. We could use an offensive wing or big though.

Yeah it comes down to money. I heard he will get 8 mil??

We won't win a lot of games regardless

Don't you want a shot at an all star starter? Think about it. Rip city and all of China combining forces to become a superpower.

Sounds awesome

Trust me, you don't want his fans invading this board too. Anytime he gets less than 30 minutes a game, they'll go on and on that the coach is an idiot, Lin is better than Lillard, etc.

“Why do you hate Jeremy Lin so much?”

If you’ve ever suggested the Rockets point guard should come off the bench, or disagreed that he’s the next Steve Nash, you’ve likely been asked this question.

Jeremy Lin’s fans are a rabid bunch, large in quantity and not very accepting of criticism of their player. What you say, what you don’t say — they try to extract meaning out of all it. Tweet that Lin turned it over and they’ll ask why you didn’t mention James Harden’s turnover last week.

So with rhetoric ramped up at a high level after Jeremy’s huge swing from Game 4 low to Game 5 high, we decided enough was enough. It was time for a little social experiment.

Yesterday evening, I posted a simple thread in our Rockets forum with nothing but these words:Before Game 5, Jeremy Lin hadn’t done a great job of being an offensive spark this series. It included a poll question asking if this was a true or false statement.

There was just one catch that I didn’t include.

The summary wasn’t mine. It was Jeremy Lin’s.

“I felt like I needed to be more of a spark tonight,” said Lin after scoring 21 points on 9-15 shooting in Game 5. “I haven’t done a great job of that this series.”

Unaware of the source of the comment, Jeremy Lin fans responded immediately to defend Jeremy Lin from Jeremy Lin, even going so far as to claim the statement proved that Jeremy Lin was biased against Jeremy Lin.

I believe you and I bet the bandwagon fans would be annoying.

You know? Thanks for that. Didn't want him beforehand, simply because he seems to be very erratic and inconsistent. High turnover rate. But you sold me on this El Presidente. MY head would boil having to deal with new thread after new thread from delusional, irrational fans thinking their player is... well anything but a role player who might spark once every few games. I don't think he is consistent enough to be a 6th man. He would end up much like Jamal Crawford looked when he was here. Inconsistent and out of place.
Not our guy.

LakersGround had a similar thread. Everywhere he goes, "Linsanity nation" follows him around and basically goes on about he is basically the MVP. About how his playing time in garbage time shows why he should start, etc.

Yeah, not interested in Lin. Don't want anything to do with his fans.
