Thinking back on the end of last year and how horrible the trade for Affalo turned out to be, (I needn't mind you how horrible his play was for us) and the very lackluster season for Blake I got to wondering who is the worst blazer player of all time.

Of course Raymond Felton immediately comes to mind.

LaMarcus Aldridge. No other player in team history has been as big a detriment as he has. He basically turned a team that had the potential and flexibility to compete for an NBA championship in about a year or two into a shitty lottery team that will probably be historically bad.

He was the franchise player. He left while the Blazers were on an upward trajectory and several years of rebuilding just got flushed down the fucking toilet.

Fuck LaMarcus Aldridge. Worst. Blazer. Ever.

Armon Johnson was painful to watch. Not the worst ever, but he wasn't good at all.

I loved Antonio Harvey for his hustle and size but I just worried he would goaltend every shot, that's what I remembered about him whenever he was on the court.

Joe wolf and Joe Kliene were pretty bad

Sasha Pavlovic was also bad here

Does NO ONE remember why that trade was made? good grief. it was made to give us insurance behind Wesley Matthews, our Iron man. The guy who never got hurt. And then he did. And then we had to throw a lineup together with a guy who just got here... in the middle of the western conference race that went down to the last couple of games... so we got every teams best.

Does NO ONE remember that? That trade was AWESOME. Good grief.

There are no 'worst Blazers ever'.

They are all untouchable.

(I keed, I keed.)

Even though he is the most hated right now, LMA should never be on this list.

He doesn't even compare to:

Raymond Felton
Shawn Kemp
Damon Stoudamire
or JR Rider

Interesting takes. Depends on how you look at it, I suppose.

I don't agree with the OP that Afflalo should be on any list. It was a good trade for a sixth man that didn't pan out due to injuries to other players forcing him into a role he wasn't suited for.

Obviously, the worst Blazers ever were end of bench players or others who had some kind of contract but never made the team. Guys no one remembers.

I liked El Presidente's take that LaTex was the worst ever, based on the way he took a possible contender and ruined it. That's way worse IMO than a draft pick who just didn't pan out.

How about players who got paid a gagillion dollars for not playing? Guys like Steve Francis who got paid $34 million dollars to not play. Or Raef LaFrenz, who was one of the highest paid players on the team but only played in 66 games in two seasons, averaged 9.7 minutes, 2.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.4 blocks, then sat injured his third year while the Blazers attempted to cash in on his "super expiring contract" mirage. RLEC was a bad player. And then there's Brandon Roy ....

Define your term - "worst" in what way?
Least talent?
Did the least with his talent?
Greatest disappointment?
Worst attitude/behavior?
Left the team with the most bad feelings?
Most over the hill with big contract and nothing left in the tank?

No one can claim Aldridge, for example, in the first 4 categories but that he is listed here shows some consider no. 5 to be the top of their list.

My list for the 5 would be:
LaRue Martin (a lot of second round picks fit but then who remembers them?)
JR Rider
Greg Oden
Ruben Patterson
Hate to say it but Bill Walton
Steve Francis

Armon Johnson was painful to watch. Not the worst ever, but he wasn't good at all.
Armon Johnson is a great guy though. So I refuse to even mention him. I don't think I ever saw AJ without a smile. Same with Nolan Smith, he never played well, but seemed like a great person, and definitely had his share of adversity.

A lot of people seem to be forgetting that Adam Morrison was a Blazer.

I don't think he technically made the team, he was a training camp invite and got cut.

I was just thinking if we were going to talk productivity vs. Cost that oden would be up there.

I think Oden is the worst Blazer ever. He went from hero to zero in less than 2 years.

William "Bill" Smith
Taken with the 42nd pick.
7' 220 center from Syracuse. Two years on the roster.

To me it has to be LaRue Martin..one of the worst Blazers to ever play
