I've got it! All repubs have to do is say "we've repealed Obamacare but we're keeping the ACA" and everyone's happy!
Sadly, for a large percentage of republican voters, that is true. Similarly, a large percentage of democrat voters would still vilify him.
Yes, but for other actual bad things about him. It's not like there's a limited supply. Let's not play the false equivalence game. Hillary was a somewhat uninspiring lifelong public servant who made some inevitable political compromises and literally does not know how to use a computer. Trump is a mentally unwell monstrous buffoon who couldn't be elected Mayor of New York but managed to smear his opponent enough that they were comfortable with his manifest disqualifications. Oh, and the people of Wyoming are terrified of ISIS, but think we'll be safer just as soon as we have guns surgically attached to everybody at birth.
All I was saying is that the cognitive dissonance in many L.I.V.s between "Obamacare" and "The ACA" doesn't only exist on the conservative side.
I imagine this would be true of Honest Abe Lincoln today also. I heard there are 16 million people work there during the day, but what remains at night, those that vote there, are far out.
And I have sold houses that families lost to the bank because Obama forced them to buy worthless high deductible insurance they could not afford. People die from lack of healthcare while the ACA PONZI SCHEME takes their only healthcare money.
There you go. Simple economics. Our Representative, Jaime Beutler, is on board in Washington with repealing this, and I couldn't be happier about it. She's the best Congresswoman this city has ever had.
Since abortion is only 3% of what Planned Parenthood does and receives no federal funds, it is wrong to say if they just got rid of abortion there would be no opposition. Planned Parenthood is under attack for providing birth control, because sex is a sin (for women) and women must be punished. PP does not receive direct federal funds, it receives Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement and ending that means millions of women get no service. No birth control but also no Pap, no STD testing, no family planning education. Nothing. For years I worked shit jobs that kept everyone part time so they would not have to pay benefits and the only health care I got was at Planned Parenthood. Even when I could only afford to pay $5 they never turned me away, always were respectful, never shaming or judgmental. Now that I am mildly comfortable I make a monthly donation and they are one of the top beneficiaries in my will. Meanwhile... Amendments to prevent insurance companies from charging women more for insurance, commonplace until the ACA, failed. Amendment that any "replacement" needed to include well woman care failed. Amendment to prevent annual and lifetime caps so a person with cancer or AIDS does not lose their home, life savings, and become destitute when they pass lifetime cap, failed. Amendment to allow young people to continue on their parents' plan, failed. What DID pass was ending the tax on high incomes. So the top 400 wealthiest people in the country will each get a $7 million tax cut. 20 million lose insurance. Make America Great Again. And dead.
The money is fungible. Make PP a charity (like it is) and let people who want to support it do so. That would include me.
