I have. We all should. Have you?

Would have made far more sense to help someone right in your own neighborhood. There are people in Portland living in far worse conditions with no hope of receiving any government assistance.

Living in worse conditions than people in Puerto Rico? Have you been there?

You do what you want with your money. I don't need any suggestions.

Those people NEED government assistance but your asshat "leader" can't do just that, lead.

I've camped out and hunted for weeks in worse weather than they have now.

If you live in hurricane country and you can't be bothered to defend yourself and your family by hoarding some food, water and shelter supplies, don't expect a lot of sympathy from me.

VP Pence: "We are with you, we will stay with you, and we will come back stronger than ever."

These two need to have a talk

He's already broken records with how much money and manpower he sent, starting BEFORE the storms hit, and there's enough supplies sitting there to last them months. Their local government has been stealing and reselling it, and neglecting to distribute the rest through a combination of incompetence, ignorance, and apathy.

Since when did "We are with you" get re-defined to mean "Take my money"? :dunno:

It's amazing the thought process of some people's posts...

Best response ever, according to Puerto Rican leaders.

In an interview with PBS Newshour this evening, Rosselló thanked the Trump administration for their prompt response:

JOHN YANG: Governor, are you getting all the aid you need or getting it fast enough from the states?

GOV. RICARDO ROSSELLO: First of all, we are very grateful for the administration. They have responded quickly.

The president has been very attentive to the situation, personally calling me several times. FEMA and the FEMA director have been here in Puerto Rico twice. As a matter of fact, they were here with us today, making sure that all the resources in FEMA were working in conjunction with the central government.

We have been working together. We have been getting results. The magnitude of this catastrophe is enormous.

Rossello and other officials praised the federal government for planning its response in detail before the storm hit, a contrast with what Puerto Rico has long seen as the neglect of 3.4 million Americans living in a territory without a vote in Congress or the electoral college.

"This is the first time we get this type of federal coordination," said Resident Commission Jenniffer Gonzalez, Puerto Rico's non-voting representative in Washington.

Wait, what? I thought the government was stealing and re-selling the supplies, or do none of these people represent the PR government? I'm so confused now....

Puerto Rican Mayors Investigated For Hoarding Supplies For "Constituents Who Voted For Them"

As Metro reports, the U.S. Attorney in San Juan is now opening an investigation into whether or not local mayors around Puerto Rico have been withholding supplies from residents and/or only delivering them to "constituents who had voted for them."

"This morning we received information from a town on the Island where a person close to the municipal administration was asking one of our federal agents that the supplies that were there could not be touched because they were for his mayor," said Rodríguez, who then indicated that the case is already being investigated.

He added that he also received confidences from another islander whose official was also keeping supplies for "constituents who had voted for that person."

"This is not the time to do politics ... this is the time to help and to be kind to others. This is a tragedy and nobody should take advantage of the aid," said Rodriguez, adding that if they manage to prove the ind
