Mr. Roberts, fabulous movie starring Henry Fonda, William Powell, Jack Lemon, Ward Bond and James Cagney. You'll recognize several other faces.
Dad and I recently watched that a few months ago. You're right, it's a great movie. We also recently purchased and watched the Abbott & Costello Meet the Monsters Collection. He got a hoot out of seeing those again!
Are those dinner forks? I eat with two dinner forks, one for the left hand and one for the right. I like to wolf down my food, provided it's all in a bowl. Sometimes I need no utensils at all. Need to wash my shirt often, though.
Saw this recently. WTF? I've seen this movie 200 times already. There was only one really good scene, where she hugs the gay kid who she had dated. This was the Moonlight of this year's group apparently.
Yeah, it just wasn't in my wheelhouse. Probably had something to do with that fact that I grew up with 4 brothers in a small town. Where-as my gf grew up in a big city, and attended church on a regular basis.
I've seen movies exactly like it a million times. It was well acted and interesting. Oscar worthy that does not make it.
Flight of Dragons. I highly recommend. Especially if you're into fantasy flicks...or even if you're not. It is animated, but don't let that turn you off. It's based on a book by Peter Dickinson (who is actually referenced in the movie...meta). First saw this as an ABC Saturday Night Movie back in like 86 or 87, taped it and watched many times thereafter (even with all the 80s commercials). Got the DVD a few years back. This movie is great on all fronts, from the animation, to the voice cast (features Jon Ritter, James Earl Jones, and Harry Morgan), to the plot. It has lots of science philosophy in it, which is one reason I love it so much. (Even covers DRAGON science!) Heck, if anything just get stoned and watch -signed, neeeeeeerd!
The Shape of Water. What the fucking fuck? Looked beautiful and Michael Shannon was great in it as always. Otherwise it was idiotic.
I saw Operation Red Sea. It's an action flic from mainland China. It's a cheesy patriotic action movie about a special forces unit going into harms way to take on some terrorists who kidnapped some Chinese citizens. I enjoyed it for the action and some of the unintentionally funny parts.
