Alec Baldwin arrested over parking spot altercation
    Fox News
Fiery actor Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday after allegedly punching someone in New York City's West Village neighborhood, Fox News has confirmed.

    This story is developing...

Hot-headed thespian Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday afternoon after allegedly punching a man in New York City's ritzy West Village neighborhood, Fox News has confirmed.

Police sources say the frequent "Saturday Night Live" host was in custody after getting into an argument over a parking spot.

Law enforcement responded to a 911 call for an alleged assault around 1:30 pm EST, sources told Fox News, where a 49-year-old male was treated for an injury to his left jaw. The individual was conscious and alert and transported to Lenox Hospital.

Charges against Badlwin are pending, but law enforcement sources said it was likely the actor, who recently debuted his struggling, eponymous talk show on ABC, would be charged with misdemeanor assault.

A rep for the actor did not immediately return Fox News' request for comment.

ALEC BALDWIN'S ABC TALK SHOW TANKS IN RATINGS
Baldwin was placed into custody and taken to the NYPD's 5th precinct after allegedly punching a man in the face over a parking spot.

Baldwin, 60, lives in the tony downtown Manhattan neighborhood with his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, 34, and their four children.

This is not the first arrest for the notoriously tantrum-prone star. Baldwin was cuffed in 2014 after he became "belligerent" with a police officer who stopped him on his bike after he was riding in the wrong direction.

NYPD told Fox News at the time that Baldwin, who had no identification on him, "refused to [identify] himself, became belligerent, cursing and yelling. He was then placed in handcuffs."

Baldwin went on a Twitter rant after his arrest, posting the arresting officer's name and badge number. The actor tweeted that he was taken into custody while "photographers outside my home ONCE AGAIN terrified my daughter and nearly hit her with a camera. The police did nothing."

ALEC BALDWIN CALLS FOR ‘OVERTHROW’ OF TRUMP AT DEM FUNDRAISER

He then added, "New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign."

Baldwin has also had several other run-ins with the general public that did not involve law enforcement.

In 2011, the former "30 Rock" star was removed from a flight after refusing to stop playing the game "Words With Friends" on his phone.

In 2012, he was accused by a photographer of getting aggressive with him on a New York City street, and in 2013 another photographer filed a harassment claim against Baldwin.

The prickly man about town had been laying relatively low recently when it came to street scuffles, making more headlines for his frequent attacks on President Trump and his popular parody of the president on "Saturday Night Live."

The liberal actor doubled down on his anti-Trump rhetoric at a fundraiser for New Hampshire's Democratic Party last month.

“It is time to overthrow the government of Donald Trump -- not in a violent way or unlawful way -- but it must be overthrown nonetheless," Baldwin told a crowd of some 800 party office-holders, candidates, officials and activists, drawing loud applause.

Baldwin also told reporters that he’s “always dreamed” of running for office himself, but explained it’s not in the cards for him at this time.

“My wife told me she’d divorce me if I ran for office,” he joked.

He also downplayed suggestions that his Democratic activism would limit the success of “The Alec Baldwin Show,” his new venture on ABC, which is scheulded to air as planned, despite Friday's arrest.

“'The Alec Baldwin Show’ will air as scheduled on Sunday,” an ABC spokesperson told Fox News.

Andrew Gillum's Florida Governor bid mired in anti-Semitism accusations, links to radical Palestinian group
By Lukas Mikelionis | Fox News

Andrew Gillum may be ahead in the polls as he bids to become Florida's next governor, but the Tallahassee mayor's association with a radical far-left group associated with Palestinian terrorism has left his campaign mired in allegations of anti-Semitism and could yet prove costly with the state's 600,000 Jewish voters.

Republican opponent Ron DeSantis has repeatedly brought up Gillum’s relationship with Dream Defenders, a Florida-based group that claims to build “powerful, deep, local” organization for “freedom and liberation” in the state, pointing to the anti-Israel activism, including the promotion of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against the Jewish state.

Despite the accusations of anti-Semitism, Gillum has ignored the growing calls to disavow the group even as the largest Jewish weekly publication in the country, the Jewish Press, urged Florida’s Jewish residents to vote for DeSantis, potentially swaying the election to the Republican.

Dream Defenders and Gillum have an extensive history. He recently signed the group’s “Freedom Pledge” promising not to accept money from private prisons. But by signing the pledge, he also endorsed the group’s radical “Freedom Papers” that decry police and prisons as “racist”.

Dream Defenders’ co-founder Phillip Agnew said in an August interview in August that Gillum is considered to be “part of the movement.”

“In 2012 when we started this organization, it is really with a model of what Andrew [Gillum] has led for many, many years in the state. We like to say Andrew Gillum isn't a friend of the movement, he is a part of the movement,” Agnew said.

Gillum has been supportive of the group since at least 2013, proudly declaring in a debate that he helped Dream Defenders hold a month-long sit-in demonstration at the Florida Capitol in 2013.

“There are two of us here on this stage from Tallahassee, and I was proud to be the only one. When you all slept in for 30 days on the cold, hard marble floors of the state capitol, I was pleased and proud to sneak food into you every night so you could eat,” Gillum said during a Democratic gubernatorial primary forum earlier this year.

“To stand up for you and to stand beside you because you all have been standing in the gap on behalf of marginalized communities, shaking up the political process, having politicians across this state run scared because they are afraid of your power and I hope you keep at it, good luck."

But Dream Defenders has extensive ties to convicted Palestinian terrorists and once cheered the destruction of Israel during one of their events in 2016

Another co-founder of the group is Ahmad Abuznaid, an anti-Israel activist who is the son of Nabil Abuznaid, Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) ambassador and former Yasser Arafat advisor.

He praised Palestinian airline hijacker Leila Khaled on social media, saying she “taught us how to fight.” He also celebrated Rasmea Odeh, a Palestinian terrorist who spent a decade in an Israeli prison for two terror attacks, including the 1969 bombing of an Israeli supermarket that killed two students. He posted a picture with her, calling her "revolutionary, bad a--.”

Odeh, who led the Woman’s March movement after President Trump’s 2016 victory, was deported from the U.S. last year after lying about her terror conviction on her citizenship application.

The co-founder of Dream Defenders, who did not respond to a request for a comment, announced in 2016 that he left the group, but Fox News found an ad for “Palestine Fellow” distributed by the group earlier this year that asks the potential applicants to contact Abuznaid.

Dream Defenders also embarked on trips to West Bank in 2015 and 2016. The 2016 trip caused particular uproar after revelations that Florida’s then-state Democratic Sen. Dwight Bullard joined the trip that was guided by Mahmoud Jiddeh, prompting calls to step aside.

Jiddeh is a former member of a U.S.-designated terror group – the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – and spent 17 years in prison for planting bombs in Israel that wounded nine civilians. He was released as part of a prisoner swap.

Bullard is now a chairperson of the pro-Gillum New Florida Vision PAC and has become one of the key cheerleaders of Gillum’s candidacy in the media.

“Black and Latino voters don’t want to miss the chance to be part of making history,” Bullard told Florida Politics. “We have the opportunity to not just elect Florida’s first Black governor, but a governor who is unapologetically progressive and who will put our communities first.”

The association with Bullard is particularly awkward for the Gillum campaign as its statewide Jewish outreach consultant, Hava Holzhauer, once wrote a scathing condemnation during her time as the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) Florida Regional Director.

"[Bullard's] decision to take part in this tour led by a person apparently affiliated with a U.S.-designated terrorist organization that advocates for the violent destruction of Israel is deeply troubling and offensive."

“The Senator’s decision to take part in this tour led by a person apparently affiliated with a U.S.-designated terrorist organization that advocates for the violent destruction of Israel is deeply troubling and offensive,” she wrote at the time.

Gillum’s running mate Chris King has also come under fire after remarks resurfaced where he blamed Jews for losing the race for president of Harvard’s undergraduate council.

“I was nailed to the cross,” he told a local publication after the defeat in 1999, blaming the refusal of a student-run publication to endorse him. “And most of the editorial staff that was so hard on me, the vast majority were Jewish.”

The Gillum campaign did not respond to Fox News’ request for a comment for this article.

According to polls, Gillum has consistently held a slight lead against DeSantis, though always within the margins of error.

seriously? Is that what you are now reduced to is nothing but a tabloid trash conspiracy theorist? Your posts are about as hilarious as the two clowns trying to discredit Mueller. Such a sad way to live, your posts have become the S2 Blazer Fans Forum version of Devin Nunez.

Democrats, the Civil Party? Ask Eric Holder and Hillary Clinton
Remember Michelle Obama’s famous ‘when they go low, we go high’? The 2018 Democrats have amended that take. It’s a little less noble-sounding.

    Matt Lewis
    10.12.18 4:45 AM ET

The Brett Kavanaugh confirmation fight continues to have personal and political reverberations. Outraged left-wing activists, spurred on by the rape accusations against Kavanaugh, adopted Alinsky-like tactics of confronting senators at restaurants and raucously banging on the doors of the Supreme Court.

These actions have the potential to spiral out of control, both literally (stoking actual violence) and politically (producing conservative backlash against the “mob” that boosts Republican energy in the midterm elections).

With that in mind, one might suppose that some adult—some prudent leader with moral authority in the Democratic Party—would step forward to calm the base and remind them how to behave. Instead of being summoned to their better angels, Democratic leaders are urging their base to fight harder—to be even more like President Trump, the man whose behavior they supposedly loathe.

Consider the case of former attorney general Eric Holder, who recently said, “When they go low, we kick them.”

His statement was, of course, a perversion of Michelle Obama’s aspirational “when they go low, we go high” line from her speech at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. I use this line to teach my kids how to treat others. It is also a sentiment that Democrats are wholly rejecting.

To his credit, I don’t think Holder really wants Democrats to kick people; but what happens if they do? It is worth noting that a liberal man in Canada recently kicked a female pro-life activist. (I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of these radicals north of the border!)

My criticism of this behavior extends beyond the Democratic Party. I think it was unwise for Trump to retweet a video showing himself (at a WWE event) body-slamming someone with the CNN logo over the person’s face. Violent rhetoric and imagery can desensitize us to the breaking of norms, create permission structures for future demagogues to exploit, and (sometimes) even spark real violence.

The odds are slim that someone will kick a Republican because of Holder’s divisive statement. However, vulnerable people are susceptible, and—I suspect—our collective rhetoric isn’t helping matters.

It was only a year ago that a Bernie Sanders supporter shot a Republican congressman at a baseball park that is so close to where I’m writing this that I could probably throw a baseball onto the field. I fully acknowledge that the media covered the Steve Scalise shooting at the time. However, since then, people have essentially forgotten that it happened. And they shouldn’t forget.

And let’s not forget that far-right activists have also engaged in violence (see Charlottesville). I don’t want to blame the political climate when individuals are responsible for their actions, but as President Obama said, “Don’t tell me words don’t matter.”

“The 2020 race could be the least civilized presidential campaign any of us have ever seen—a breakneck race to the bottom.”
Holder isn’t the only Democratic “statesman” who thinks the Democrats need to take off their gloves and quit playing nice (for what it’s worth, I have always seen Democrats as tough, bare-knuckle brawlers). Consider Hillary Clinton’s latest comments.

During an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Clinton said, “You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.”

“That’s why,” she continued, “I believe if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and/or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again.”

So Democrats should engage in uncivil behavior—because their noble ends justify the means. And once they regain power, we should trust that they will then decide to be civil?

    Riiight.

Keep in mind that we are talking about the former Attorney General and the former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential nominee—not a couple of performance artist yahoos. (Did I mention that Michael Avenatti challenged Don Jr. to an MMA fight?)

What is happening on the left today mirrors what happened on the right a few years ago. Conservatives, believing the game was rigged against them, fetishized macho toughness over other attributes like character, political philosophy, and experience. The “But he fights!” trope (describing Trump) originated from this hysteria. I was vehemently opposed to that mindset then, and I still oppose it now.

Truth be told, many Republicans felt that Trump’s penchant for fighting was his most important, or possibly even his only, qualification. You could argue that it worked—that the liberal media and left-wing activists would have destroyed any other “nice guy” GOP nominee (see Mitt Romney). You could argue that, even if a different Republican had won the presidency, only Trump would have been tough enough to stick with someone like Brett Kavanaugh amid all the swirling controversy and allegations.

This is all debatable, but it’s interesting that the left seems to have bought into this argument just as much as the “alt-right”. Liberals want their own version of Trump. And I think the odds are good that they will find one in 2020.

Get ready for a wild and bumpy ride. The 2020 race could be the least civilized presidential campaign any of us have ever seen—a breakneck race to the bottom. No matter who emerges as victor, we all lose.

Stop embarrassing yourself by denying well-known, heavily documented facts.

It's so bizarre, I don't know whtt you hope to accomplish by it.

To this day I've never seen you post a shred of evidence to support any of your attacks on reality.

Just stop trolling my threads until you can post an legitimate rebuttal.

Wow, you'd think he would be rich enough to have his chauffeur punch people for stealing his parking space.

Props to him for doing it himself.

There will be no jail time, I'm sure the recipient of the punch will refuse to press charges in exchange for a $200,000 check.
