We finally let Clyde go to the rockets after years of falling short to get a championship. Lillard is truly a great player who has been surrrounded by a weak cast his whole career. If he were to leave which team do you think he would likely opt for?

Let’s see. How do I put this politely and not violate board rules?

Your thread can go fuck itself.

He would end up buying the Blazers. But it would be a potential conflict of interest, since he already owns the Thunder.

(Albeit, a few years back and they won the season series this year. )

Here I thought this thread was going to be about Harden and Lebron taking extra steps.

It was good enough for Dirk, it was good enough for Duncan and it's good enough for Dame....fuck the big markets and ring chasers .I like Portland's chances to get it done in the Dame era
And Reggie Miller.

Dirk and Duncan both won

Dirk and Duncan both won
Sure....and Dirk's was an underdog team that pulled it off against all odds....Dame has years to get it done yet although Dirk and Duncan are still connected to their lifelong teams and cities...somebody mentioned Reggie Miller as well who didn't win ...my point is loyalty is not exclusive to Dame.

Curious how many players that were drafted since 2000 have stayed with their team for 10+ years without winning a title. I'm guessing it's a super short list.

Dame, Beal,....?

And the Rockets...

It's bound to catch up to him sooner or later

I looked it up and a total of 50 players have stayed with one team...Oscar Robertson and John Stockton also did it..Stockton never won a ring.

Stockton makes questionable choices. See his stance on vaccines...
this is about basketball loyalty to a franchise...he was loyal to his team..regardless of his politics or whacked out philosophies he was one of the great point guards to play the game..

It's odd, in other sports I have other teams that I follow and/or would root for if they're not playing my main team, i.e. MLB Mariners, but then I like seeing the Rays have success. NFL Seahawks, but I like seeing the Jags and Lions have success. I don't have any alternates at all in basketball, it's Portland or nothing.

But I guess NY in regards to OP's question? Big market and they've sucked for a long time and are in the other conference. Still would rather him stay here of course, but IF it had to happen...

I guess OP's actual question is what team he'd leave for, maybe GS since it's near Oakland?

Yeah, just ribbing him. He was an incredible player.

Don't entertain the OPs question. It's not worth it.

But I'm the same way with MLB teams. Im a diehard of the Ms, but I really like the Rays as well. Same with Brewers.

NBA? Wouldn't give a fuck, only team I care about is Portland and if they left I'd stop watching the NBA same way I never watch the NFL.

I 100% thought the same and I was excited. I love when they do the number count with the whimsical musical notes for every step.

I promise Adam Morrison with 2 rings is never going to be a first ballot HOFeer with the keys to a city......ever. Nor Gary Payton II

Nick Collison, Russel Westbrook in OKC, Giannis, and KAT is nearly there.

I like his chances of getting it done here as well. He’s really shown the willingness to put trust in the young guys around him imo. I think that as long as he continues to do so, he’s going to be able to ride the bench while competing until he wants to retire.

However, that means staying the course and not trading 1sts for guys that aren’t actually stars. I still believe we’ll be a lotto team by the end of the season. As long as we hit on two guys this year and continue to build, he can have a Chris Paul-type of trajectory in terms of career.
