I'd never thought it would happen...

Great play ... but he fouled him. The little guy is always going to get the benefit of that call.

Who would of thought? Even with the foul, it's pretty amazing for a 5'7 guard to stuff a 7'6 center.

Great play by Nate Robinson, I couldn't see the foul, but there definitely could have been one.

It doesn't take anything away from the Rockets win though lol.

Heck of a play by Nate on that. I saw it on SC and they replayed it countless times. To Yao's defense...he didn't really jump. Regardless, there's 2 feet difference in height between those two, so that's still a spectaculary block and amazing display of leaping ability and timing by Nate.

Who'd have thought that a poster involving Yao and Nate would end up looking like that

HAHA ! When my homie told that to me in school... Depression of school dissapeared and I had a smile on my face... ;D

SICKKKK ;D

BTW Shaddy, that clip really fits with that topic. ;D

On the Yao Ming - Nate play, was the block itself clean, and the foul afterwards?

lol the Knicks lost by 14 in that game, Nate is estatic. I guess something else must have made him happy.

I don't think it was that hard of a foul if any. Anytime someone two feet shorter than you stuffs you it's cormendable.

And ... that was about the only positive thing that happened for the Knicks, the WHOLE game.

And ... I even doubt Nate didn't foul Yao ... hey, but whatever gets this Knicks forums going.

You won by 7. Calm down.

The "foul" wasn't even that hard. If called, it would have been a ticky tack foul, especially considering the foul was AFTER he blocked Yao.

thats the difference between yao and shaq. that would never happen to shaq.

Actually, it has.

Steve Francis stuffed Shaq, if I remember correctly.

Thats Josh Howard.

What is the difference? that Nate has blocked Yao?

Well I'm sure plenty of players have blocked Shaq that are under 6'6. Those kind of things don't define a player, it is the entire career of thousands of shots that really defines them. Although we like to sum up a person to one play.

I kind of hated Nate Robinson since last year's dunk contest. The guy just won the dunk contest against Iggy because he was so short. They liked his dunk more because he was short. Thats my opinion though. Also, on that play I give him props for the block but he fouled Yao as well. Good play though.

Shard said it, and now I'm gonna say it. Nate Robinson is the closest thing to Jesus on this planet.

Why would you hate Nate? He didn't vote for himself. If anything hate Kenny Smith.

He hit Yao in the face after he blocked the shot. Didn't notice that until I just watching the clip again. It was clean until he followed all the way through. 5'8 blocking 7'5, incredible having a 21 inch advantage in height. It's the equalvalent to the time Tyrone Bogues blocked Patrick Ewing a long long long long time ago lol.

It was a foul, however it was after the block made by Nate.

Also notice how Yao reacts to the contact a split second after he's hit. I really think it's an overexaggeration on Yao's part, really.

But as was mentioned, the foul was AFTER he stuffed Yao.

He got poked in the eye. As soon as he landed, he clutched his face. In the timeout afterwards, they showed that above his eye it was very red. The next day, apparently their was swelling above his eye.

How's that overexaggeration? Most people would have been complaining/whining to the refs about it. Yao said nothing.

You're right.

And Yao went 14 for 16 from the line. That also would never happen to Shaq.

It could be an overexaggeration, as players sometimes complain to try to get an extra call the next time.

Although getting hit on the face in midair by someone else in midair hurts. He might not have been overreacting depending on how hard and if he got hit in the eye.

Shaq has 4 rings, Yao has none, what's your point?

That was nice, the foul occured after the block, and it was accidental. His arm was following through after the block and he caught Yao in the eye.

<div class="quote_poster">Laker_fan Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Shaq has 4 rings, Yao has none, what's your point?

The point is that there is no need for drawing comparisons of Yao & Shaq because Shaq has been in the league 14 years while Yao has been in the league 5 years.

But, if you want to go ahead and compare them anyways... there are many things Yao is better at than Shaq.

<div class="quote_poster">Laker_fan Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Shaq has 4 rings, Yao has none, what's your point? </div>

My point? Shaq really sucks at free throws. It's about as obvious as the observation that Shaq is more explosive and stronger than Yao. Or that Shaq has had a better career.

It's annoying that people constantly find it necessary to point out how Yao doesn't measure up to Shaq. He's the most scrutinized player ever, despite never talking himself up, having nothing but respect for his opponents, being completely team-oriented, and having unbelievable work ethic. I'm sick of it. Ever since he entered the league, the message has been clear from all the critics: if he's not Shaq, he's a failure. I thought for once I'd talk about something Yao does that Shaq doesn't do. If that bothers you, tough.

He's 7'5", there's no need to complain. Besides, the foul was after he got stuffed. He just happened to come down on his eye after the stuff.

You're right. I forgot that people who are 7'5 are impervious to pain when they get scraped across the eye.

If you want to call it a clean block, you should at least call it a loose ball foul afterwards.

I agree with durvasa. The block seemed good, until ESPN showed it like a 100 times over and over again. Plus Yao got hit in the eye.
