Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) Mamba's going to get hustled? I don't think he'll enjoy hustling me when he finds out I f'd his wife.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) Damn man, my week was so f'd up. I had a test every single week! Monday = Pre Cal Tuesday = Accounting 2 Wednesday = Accounting 2 Thursday = Chemistry Friday = Taking a US History test! Plans for weekend! Friday = Saw 5!! Saturday = Birthday Dinner!
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) I have a presentation tomorrow, a pre-calc quiz, a writing sample, a chem project (in class, though), an anatomy presentation, a Spanish Quiz, and I could have an AP US quiz, not sure though. Fun!
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) I feel refreshed today. This is the first time in a LONG while I only had like an hour so of homework. I plan on actually getting some sleep today, but who knows. I'll probably stay up watching TV or something because I'm an idiot. Oh well.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) The Saw series is pretty good, but it's not something you'd want to watch over and over again, at least not for me. But thanks for the heads up though, I'm gonna watch it anyways. I actually have free time today YAY
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) They are at the end of Saw II. I haven't seen any of them and I was always intrigued by Jigsaw, the character. So now is my chance.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) I'm so confused about college applications. Seniors had a college application meeting in the lunch room last week, but it was so loud and crowded that it was hard to get all the info. I understand that CUNY applications are to be filled out online. Then we have to hand guidance an envelope, so they can send our transcripts to the colleges, but what do we put in the envelopes ourselves? How do we indicate what colleges we applied, and what do we need to print out? SUNY applications get even more complicated. They're paper applications, where the hell do we get them? What do we do after we fill them up? Obviously give it to guidance, but what do we have to put in them? I'm supposed to have a meeting with my guidance counselor soon, so hopefully he can answer my questions. I mean shit, the deadline for college applications is November 25th. I'm completely screwed if I somehow miss the deadline. Communication in my school doesn't seem to be top priority. I have a couple of friends in different high schools that sent out their applications in September! What the hell took so long in my high school?
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) At my school, my counselor didn't help me with applications at all. That was all on me, the only thing he did was send out my transcripts. Also, that new Katy Perry song hot and cold is a pretty groovy song. I think my political science test should be pretty easy. It just covers Public Opinion, News Media, Interest Groups, Political Parties, and Elections. Nothing in the chapters was a new concept to me, or new terms. All those chapters did was expand my knowledge of examples of certain things. My Russian Test looks pretty easy as well. Just a matter of putting things in the right case, giving a few responses to questions, and conjugating some verbs correctly. Essay portion looks easy, as it is just writing a dialog of introducing/talking to an attractive person that you meet at a party. Oral is easy as well, just have to do a little small talk on music, tv, politics, etc. for that. It's amazing, only 1 more test in Political Science and 2 more chapters in Russian. Thanksgiving is coming fast, and after thanksgiving break, the semester ends pretty quickly...amazing how fast this first semester has been.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) At my high school (A big school on Academics and is successful at such), we assign counselors by last names. My counselor also worked as the dude who reads our applications at UCI, which is a block away from my high school. He was very good at picking otu some good schools for the major you were looking for, local or not, at your GPA level and with your SAT scores. He would compile a list of schools for you, your best bets, your safe bets, and some schools that are reaches. He was always encouraging and is always welcome to helping you out. I guess I lucked out.

Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) My high school is well known for it's ability to assist students through the application process, so I can help you out on this as they basically drilled everything into our heads last year. This is what we did: You'll need to address and stamp the envelopes (you should use those big manila envelopes so the contents are nice and neat) before you give them to your guidance department. The address would be the university's office of admissions, which you should be able to find online. The return address should be your high school's address (with your homeroom number). The only application I did online was Rutgers, so the envelope that I gave the guidance department just had a transcript request paper in it to let them know all they needed to do was mail my transcript in the envelope. I printed the transcript request off the Rutgers website. All my other apps were paper apps. You should be able to download them from the university's website. For example, one of the schools I applied to via a paper app was the University of Michigan. This is what the paper app looked like for them. Just print it out (use a laser printer if you can) and fill it out. Then, put it in the envelope and give it to guidance. They'll put your transcript in and then mail it out. Also, some of the school's you might apply to may use the common app. I printed out my common app's, but I think you can do them online. I never bothered to check that out though. I preferred the paper apps. This is a list off all the universities that use the common app. You'll need to print out one copy for each school that you are applying to. So, for example, I applied to Cornell, Northwestern, and Carnegie Mellon, so I printed out 3 common apps. Your counselor should go over this with you in your meeting. And fwiw, I went to SUNY's website and I think you can apply online if you want. Do you take care of your teacher recommendations yet?
