CJ McCollum Comparisons

Who knows, he could be the next Nate McMillan

I definitely see CJ as coach after he retires.

Here are the Blazers' stats over the past ten games.
CJ is shooting 75% at the line, which is solid, but more importantly, 53% overall and 40% from 3. And he's got the best +/- on the team, which is very impressive.

He's playing better than Lillard which is great because the Rockets/Grizzlies will put all their defensive attention on Lillard while CJ will roam free. I can't wait for the playoffs.

My buddy was at the Utah game sitting 5 rows back Near Neil Olshey. He heard Olshey state his irritation with Dame not wanting to take time off. He also had his own CJ comparison that I fully agree with:

Sam Cassell

We need to get to a stage next year when Dame and CJ can play together without being complete sieves defensively. Holy shit, that backcourt is probably the worst defensive tandem in the league.

Offense looks real good tho

If Stotts thinks he needs time off, that's good enough for me.

If any player on this team needs a breather, it's Dame. The guy is stubborn and driven, but at this point he may be driving himself into the ground, and our playoff chances with him. If his ego won't let him break his consecutive game streak, at least cut his minutes way down these last two games.

Yup! Been calling for his minutes to get slashed for a while now. Let him recover this week from all the nagging injuries. What sucks is without LA in the lineup, he expends even more energy than normal. Very frustrating

I think you can see on many of his long threes he (Dame) doesn't have the same range of motion, lift and form as last year. I still think that Wade collision hurt him.

He reminds me of Taureen Green. Now go get us some of those four wins we're still owed!

I dont know why... but this is still too soon for me

Only if CJ starts doing the "Big Balls" dance.

Manu is a stretch, but Ben Gordon is a good comparison. So long as it's the BG of the epic Celtics series, not the sad shell he's become:

Wow that brings me back. 2009!! Eddie house on the celtics! Lol. Man oh man, time flies.

I've always thought Ben Gordon too. This video evidence supports that. Thanks for posting it.

Jim Jackson, a Blazer in 1999. 6-6 SG, all musccle, with the gruff but frendly voice of Thomas Robinson. A clone of what McCollum will be.

I'm running out of SGs.

Foolish post.... KJ averaged 20+ pts and 12+ asts. You did see him dunk on Hakeem right?

CJ is nothing like him.... KJ was a TRUE Point Guard.
Kevins 2nd year he played about as many games as CJ averaged 7.3 pts and 3.7 assists in Cleveland..we're talking potential here.

We've heard Monta and Jamal a lot, but watching tonight's game, what about Tony Parker? He has the handles, and the mid range.. I liked the Ray Allen comparison, but I think CJ needs the ball in his hands more than Ray and isn't quite as good of a defender as either of them..

Either way, BUMP.

He's a smaller version of Brandon Roy with a better 3pt shot.

The comparison isn't limited to former Blazers. I can see Roy, what about Parker? He plays more PG than Roy did.
Parker is a passing PG that doesn't iso people like CJ does.

Not tony Parker. If Parker had CJs 3 point shot, they'd probably have 2 more titles

No argument that CJ can bomb the 3 ball better. That is why I bumped it mentioning Ray Allen.

Was going to start my own thread but found this one.
