They're too expensive for their lack of production. I'd NEVER play Claver over Aminu, Harkless, Crabbe, or Henderson. Joel had a solid jumper and could've worked with Plums or Davis though.
The only Olshey moves I care about are the ones he's going to pull off this summer. Make those great ones and I'm happy.
Not good (and he won't be returning to CSKA Moscow, apparently). But that was because of injuries. His TEAM did very well - winning the Euroleague title, in fact. Without him. However, one ex-Blazer made a VITAL contribution:
I can't tell if you're serious. Sadly, Freeland was injured, as he so often is, and probably always will be. Claver had his usual unflashy but helpful season, as his team (Lokomotiv Kuban, if you're interested) seriously overachieved (Third place in Euroleague), although that might have had more to do with the American contingent of Anthony Randolph, Malcolm Delaney, Chris Singleton and Dontaye Draper.
Dear Dave, Great article! Way to leave out significant facts that would contradict your foregone conclusion. Nice touch! You're learning. One suggestion, in future articles, be sure to site more "unnamed sources close to the team". That way you can make up anything you want and no one can refute it. Works like a charm and is much easier than trying to understand complex things like the salary cap. I mean, come on, we're writers, not accountants. XOXO, John C.
In fact, one of them posted something that showed Dave forgot 4 free agents: Chris Kaman 2014-5, PER 17.3, G74 Steve Blake, 2014-5, PER 9.5, G81 Ed Davis 2015-6, PER 18.7, G81 Al Farouq Aminu 2015-6, PER 12.7, G82 Maybe they are not such a bunch of sheep over there. One of them even suggested that: "Dave has an agenda he should address with the community"
Talking of Malcolm Delaney, he would make a nice backup PG if he wants to try the NBA (and according to this, he does). He had an exceptional season in Europe this year and has proven that he can play PG, which was a perceived weakness of his coming out of college.
Agreed; I'd love to see a Grantland for Blazers, with long-form, considered articles over click bait bullshit with an agenda.
