That Aminu got a 2nd place vote is legit and he deserved it. No matter what I may think of him on the offensive side of the ball, he is the Blazers' most versatile defender on a team almost bereft of any defense what so ever.

HOWEVER......................

Damian Lillard also got a vote. Whoever did that should have their voting privileges removed. Dame was 392 out of 411 players in Defensive RPM and #65 among PG's. I didn't know there were 65 PGs in the league!

This team needs a massive improvement in defense and while I'm sure Dame knows he needs to improve, I don't want him getting any ideas that someone things his defense is 2nd team worthy.

I think there are always voters who will send a vote to players they personally like, whether the vote is merited or not. There's little to no accountability for voting, so little to no cost for giving a guy you like an ego stroke.

It's like the baseball Gold Glove awards. Doesnt mean shit.

Well, unlike the Gold Gloves, the right guys generally make the All-Defense teams. If Isaiah Thomas had made an All-Defense team, that would have been somewhat akin to Rafael Palmiero winning a Gold Glove in a year where he primarily DHed.

People who vote for people like Dame or Isaiah Thomas for 2nd team All Defense are like the idiot baseball Hall of Fame voters who league Hank Aaron off their ballot. They obviously don't take it seriously so should have their privileges removed if it means that little to them.

He was endorsing Viagra when he won that award. He had to play DH with All.That.Wood.

Bet it was Chuck Swirsky.

I asked in the other thread if Mike and Mike still got to vote as they were still technically on the Blazers payroll.

Seriously, that's the problem with letting the media vote on these awards - too many homers (with a lower case "h" - so as to not offend @HomerLovesKoolAid ).

Nice! That anti-Roy RoY.

Must have been some strange shit in the water up in Canada back them. Their GM drafted Bargnani #1 overall and then their announcer voted for him for ROY when he didn't even start and his numbers were far inferior to Roy's.

You are a true gentleman.

Hah, that was the exact example I thought of when I first started reading your post.

Mediocre Man voted me worst NBA team mod.

I humbly accept the award.
Don't take it personally. He has always been a cat dude.

I can't believe Bradley didn't make a team.

As I recall from a discussion we all had earlier in the year, Bradley's "defensive rating" was down this year. Which as also discussed was based on stats that have a few holes in it's calculations.

I was listening to Ramona Shelburne on ESPN radio in LA yesterday explain why she voted for Danny Green and Tony Allen over Klay Thompson, and she freely admitted that she relied on analytics for her vote because she did not see every team on a nightly basis.

And that is how a Avery Bradley is left off an all NBA Team. Like Dame said......."Smh they not watchin these games bro"

Didn't Avery miss 25+ games as well?
