With all the rumors starting to pop off, I figured it's time we have an official 2018 Trade Deadline Thread.

Scalma has already started a trade deadline prediction thread...we don't need another one

Prediction thread. This is for real news. Real tweets that break news, not to be bogged down with random trade ideas and debate about those ideas.

Keith Pompey: Source confirms #Sixers are interested in Tyreke Evans, but adds #Celtics, #Cavaliers, #Pelicans, #Thunder, #Heat & #Rockets have all contacted the #Grizzlies about the Chester native. “It going to come to a team giving them what they want,” the source said. They want a 1-rounder
Sixers won't give them a first rounder as their are too good - no. 9 or so from Lakers and theirs will be around no. 15.

They could give them a couple of solid second rounders though which might be better value. Might even throw Justin Anderson into the mix.

Could offer them a 2019 1st if they think they're going to continue to improve, and are sure they'll be a playoff team next year. Or, if they're sure that Evans will elevate them, they could take the risk on a 2018 1st. Sixers are in the 16-pick spot now, but are only like 3 games in the loss-column away from being one of the top-6 teams in the league. They could well give up the '18 and bank on Evans significantly devaluing that offering.

OKC, MIA and HOU have already traded their 2018 first round picks.

If the draft was today, POR would have the 21st pick. That's too high for a 30 game rental of Evans. He'd be a great fit, but with little chance of resigning him, it's not worth giving up the 21st pick.

Nah, I doubt it. Even if they go on a good run now I don't expect them to go lower than 22th pick which is still worth more than half a season of Tyreke. He would be a great addition but they won't overpay.

I can see them combining the picks they have this year to move up in the draft but not giving away a first rounder.

That's why I think Celtics have the best shot. Their pick will be late, and they even have the next years Clippers pick to offer as dispensable asset.

The hope would be a 30+16 win rental but yeah.
