That sucks, I like Ropp.
Heard him cry today on the radio.
I was listening for a while and all they were talking about was CFB. I must have missed it.That sucks, I like Ropp.

Had a couple drinks drove a car...?Story?
Had a couple drinks drove a car...?
When I was 10 I saw a girl get hit by a drunk driver in front Shamrock on fessenden. She was definitely dead, it still freaks me out a bit.I hope they give him the chair. I've had 9 run-ins with drunk drivers since I got my license, including a double fatality due to alcohol. I have zero tolerance for those who drive drunk. I've seen first hand what such poor decisions can do, and checking the pulse of a bloody corpse crushed inside of a pickup truck while her friend is hanging lifeless outside of the cab erased any such sympathies I had for drunk drivers.

My guess is this isnt Ropps 1st time. Its not like he’s a kid. I hardly ever consume any alcohol but even one is more than enough to know the smart decision is to not drive.

The problem with sobriety is that since I've stopped using any alcohol I'm now the local designated driver....my son loves it as do all his friends and my new inlaws!
I listen to every show on podcast. I used to only go back and listen to the club hour but it's so easy to download the whole show and there are no commercials so it goes fast. I've been listening to Ropp since his Saturrday show Ropp and the Mop with Gavin Dawson back in the early 2000's. After learning about the DUI I was still listening to the show from last Friday. It was cringe-worthy how Ropp kept making jokes about drinking and saying his favorite drinking quotes.
He and Suke have talked at length over the last couple years about colleges trying to hide wrongdoings and covering them up instead of just doing the right thing and telling the truth before it all comes out. Ropp himself even says everything comes out anyway so why not get ahead of it? Well last week we were told he was "sick" when he missed two shows and came back to do the Thursday and Friday shows with absolutely no difference in his tone or jokes about drinking. When it comes to him messing up why not just come out and own it on Thursday?
While I do think his apology was sincere, it would have been a lot more sincere and honest had he done it BEFORE the O-Live article came out. Did he actually think no one would find out about it?
I love Ropp and will continue to listen, but he should've owned it right when it happened.
Yeah but based on what Ropp says on his show regularly about how other people should come out and admit wrong doing before it becomes public he is a major hypocrite if that is what happened.I'm guessing he was under orders by the station manager not to say anything but that changed after the O-live article came out.
Yep. I'm always the DD. But i'm good with that. The problem with sobriety is that since I've stopped using any alcohol I'm now the local designated driver....my son loves it as do all his friends and my new inlaws!
My comment about the first time was about getting behind the wheel after drinking and its pure speculation.According to the article, it's his first DUI (though I doubt it's his first time driving intoxicated......), and his driving record is pretty colorful with tickets for speeding and parking violations. 10 parking violations, to be exact. That's ridiculous. I couldn't manage 10 parking tickets if I tried.
The guy sounds completely irresponsible, and either needs to have his license suspended, or he needs to address personal issues in his life with counseling, to help him become more responsible and even-headed.
Though if you're not responsible enough to get a designated driver at 42, then I doubt counseling will work.
Yeah very few get caught the "First Time".My comment about the first time was about getting behind the wheel after drinking and its pure speculation.
Yeah, its possible that was his first time, but it wasnt exactly like he’s a kid. I think he’s 42. Sounds like he came back to work business as usual until the story came out and he went all emotional...Yeah very few get caught the "First Time".
I'd make a terrible Uber driver....I'd be telling drunk Duck fans how they should be walking everywhere in Tracktown USA! Driving drunk Duck fans around in my Beaver gear....that's not gonna work outYou're in Eugene right? Didn't they just allow Uber in the downtown area? Ducks fans were bitching that they didn't when one of Willie Taggart's coaches got caught literally the week he was hired.
Yeah Ive listen to him since Ropp/Mop days and have always enjoyed his balance fun and seriousness. I agree he should have apologized/addressed it before the article.I listen to every show on podcast.
