This seems to be a divisive topic on this forum, so I'm curious where people sit.

We have quite a few mega threads on here. Some people seem to want to merge everything into these mega threads, while others hate to have to sort through 30 pages to find a new piece of information or thought.

Where do you stand?

Pushing the public towards doing something one way fro traffic control is a form of socialism I just cant but into! lol

I personally like smaller threads and it mostly is because I don't like clicking one on thread when I get home from work and see 10 pages of comments especially if only one aspect of the thread is what I want to talk about. Some things like a specific topic or a single player or team I get why there is one big thread about them and i'm fine with that.

Didn't you learn in English class to define a new term before using it?

That is hard to do when things all get posted into one mega thread that you have to read. How do you know if you're reading what you want?
Seriously i just don't worry about it much anymore. I used to try to keep up a lot better but for the most part i read a little bit and reply when i want. If someone says something funny i try to join in on the fun. The Blazers and S2 are simply entertainment. I'm trying to keep it that way from now on. I have a job that i get paid for that i stress about not my play.

Another thing i look at is the amount of comments. If the thread has hundreds of comments i'm pretty much going to scroll by it. If i see one that just started then i'm more apt to post in it. If it has over a thousand comments i might have posted in it but i spend long stretches away and when i get back 20 or 30 pages i probably won't try to catch back up.

Serious questions:

What is the difference between reading 4 threads with 50 comments in them or 1 thread with 200 comments?

Isn't trying to find a post, thought, or idea in one thread the same amount of work as trying to figure out which one of the 18 Olshey sucks threads it was in?

This is too much power to place into the hands of elected representatives elected in a popular vote. We need equity exchanges of entitled rich people making these decisions, to enable democratic market forces.

To make thread consolidation decisions, Denny should hire Olshey, due to his talent with consolidation trades.

You have a point. But trying to find seems like that is where the idea changes. There are notifications that directly effect my posts so i don't have to "Find" them. Other than that it just doesn't seem worth my time to go back and find a specific statement someone made.

Again sir.... There is green font for this kind of thing! Dammit!

I should make it a weekend project to database all of s2, I have a SQL server I could use. I could make the ultimate merged thread! All for my own personal enjoyment!

IMO certain times we should have multiple threads, like trade deadline for instance. If I want to read about people’s Fultz takes for example, I’d rather it had its own thread than trying to weed through everyone’s takes on everyone else who did or did not get traded.

If it’s 20 threads about the same thing, sure combine them.

You must be new to the board, never having read my Shakespeare before.
The light coming through that window is still GREEN!
And it ain't facing east because that ain't the sun!
It's a shrew and you ain't gonna tame it!
Et tu need to adhere to the font rules or someone might turn on ya.
It could be as controversial as a Titus Play.
But for the most part it's just much ado about nothing......

I admit, i voted merge only because sometimes the same conversation is happening in multiple threads, but honestly i dont care either way.

With that said, im curious why you would have to search through all of the posts in a mega thread every time you search for a new piece of information or thought?
Do you not use the last unread option so each time you open the thread it starts you out right where you left off?
Never been an issue for me because of this awesome feature.

Pretty much where i land and a great point about not merging.
