Everybody suggesting trades of Simons for [insert veteran role player here] clearly don't get Olshey.

Porter is only 27, shoots the three well, gets to the line fairly often (and shoots FT's well). Almost 10 rebounds and a steal per 36. The only way we would get him is on a buyout, so he wouldn't be expensive. Considering all that, it's doubtful we will get him.

If by "big men" you mean "backup PGs", I agree.

Agreed. If he's bought out he'll have his pick of Clippers/Lakers/possibly Nets

We have Dame, CJ, and Trent who will need minutes at guard. (96 minutes divided by 3 = 33 minutes each. So technically Dame does not need to be ridden into the ground.

Yes, I have always argued for a true backup PG in case Dame got hurt. But if Dame gets hurt now the season is over so I wonder if trading for a pg is worth it....considering Terry's offense. Adding one from the G league seems more likely.

With Nurk coming back soon, Otto Porter would seem to be the best addition.

I would offer a Hood, Jones, Giles, and Ant package
I love what Jones brings on D but we do have Little there as well.

Marks was wrong, I DM'ed him on Twitter after he said that and he said he messed that one up.

    Three team trade
    Portland Out - Hood, Collins
    Portland In - Bjelica, Rondo

    Kings Out - Bjelica
    Kings In - Hood

    Hawks Out - Rondo
    Hawks In - Collins

Blazers get a PF who can shoot and handle the ball, and a true playoff tested backup PG.
Kings get rid of Bjelica's contract as they are looking to move him.
Hawks get a replacement for their Collins as he is out after this season.

We can’t trade Simons. He just won the dunk contest, FAMS!

As far as I know never. It might actually be exciting if CP3 was our PG and the team ran more plays for those guys to finish at the rim.

I don't understand this. Why would Chicago prefer a buy-out vs getting something in return?
I am not suggesting sending them players with bad contracts. I would think the only way we get him is through a trade. Otherwise, there is too much competition for his services.

Um, Barnes makes 22 million. Hood and Simons make 13. They'd have to include another player (at least) and even it'd be an incredibly stupid trade.

Hills assist percentage is nearly double Simons’. Let’s not even get into the defense. As for his injury, he’s expected back within two weeks.

I have a hard time accepting that the Blazers would trade two players, one of which isn't going to play this year and the other who is struggling coming off of a major injury, and they get the only decent players in the entire trade?

Atlanta and Sacramento laugh heartily at this trade offer.

you're also comparing his stats as a starter vs that of a backup. Hills #'s wouldn't be the same as a 15-20 minute reserve.

But the main point is that Hill is currently 34, almost 35. You don't trade a 21 year old who averages more points per 36, more rebounds per 36, and isn't 34, for a 34 year old on the down down down downside of his career.

That's 14 years older than Anfernee.

That is a bad bad bad trade.

Excited to see Nurk after a break to work on his conditioning.

Didn't quiet have the mobility or pop of the floor that we're used to seeing.

I would trade Hood for Hill (why the Thunder would accept that trade is beyond me), but I wouldn't throw anyone younger than 25 in the trade.

    I didn't realize Rodney was already 28.

It's really one of his only huge weaknesses on offense. He just isn't good at it lol

assist percentages take that into account, so if Simons really was anywhere near the playmaker Hill was it would be reflected in his percentages.

Hill is superior in almost every way

Higher PER, TS%, Free throw rate, assist rate, steal rate, turnover rate, offensive win shares, defensive win shares, win shares/48, offensive box score plus minus, defensive box score plus minus, box score plus minus, and VORP. But yeah, Simons rebounds better LOL.

But maybe most importantly, Hill is a vet you can actually trust in the playoffs

They do it because they want to win now, is my guess. The older player helps them now. Anfernee doesn't (as much).
