The keys to the Heat having any chance are:
U. Haslem
K. Love
C. Zeller
Or Golden State. Getting really tired of seeing them in the finals. Will happily watch this series with no BOS/LAL.
I think the most interesting thing about Miami's run is it sort of flies in the face of almost all things we hold to be facts in basketball, such as talent wins out, and size wins out in a series. Miami does not have the talent of any of the teams they knocked out, and are probably the shortest team in the league based on the players that actually touch foot on the floor. They kind of show that a team system, coached well can make up for a size and talent discrepancy, even on the biggest stage.
GM gets a ton of credit too for identifying unsung players that can thrive in the system. So coaching and team leadership matter? Who would have known. Miami doing it with about a 1/3 of their team being freakin' undrafted. If they don't win, Miami fans have a right to say they didn't put enough talent around Butler.....but damn, did coaching and a player with an insane drive to win (so much so he has pissed off teammates who weren't as driven as he was) done wonders. Finals twice in the last few years and a win away another time.

He probably deserves one, as soon as he got out of the starting lineup they became much better.if Tyler Herro wins a ring sitting on the bench, then he should sit out next year's playoffs too.
You will have to read "Make the playoffs no matter what seed". Injuries happen. Bucks lose Giannis for three games. Brunson, Quickley and Randall all playing hurt with Fournier sick. Not sure that game 7 goes the same way with a healthy Tatum. Now one question that was asked in the presser with Tatum was about them even being in that position to be in a game 7 did have merit. Boston should never have lost games 1 and 2.thank god we don't have to hear about the first 0-3 comeback for the NBA.
And from Boston, no less, just like in MLB.thank god we don't have to hear about the first 0-3 comeback for the NBA.
They did the same thing last year. They were also undersized and had a talent deficit. They are just a really good team. They were in the ECF last year with the best record in the east and in the finals in 2020 so while you have a point they're far from the normal 8th seed.
That benefitted from injuries. They did the same thing last year. They were also undersized and had a talent deficit. They are just a really good team.
They suffered from injuries as well. They were missing a starter, and an important rotation guy in Herro & Oladipo. That benefitted from injuries.

Bottom line. Make the playoffs and give it your best shot.
