    perhaps Austin said to Cash/Boone, I do not want to be the backup anymore, I want more playing time.

    Yeah, Matts, I think we talked about it before and maybe it was just freakishly bad luck or it could have been poor conditioning, but regardless, the number of injuries and visits to the DL over the last 2 seasons has been unreal.

    You say this and yet...voight and urshela...tarpley, as a lefty specialist, lost his job due to the new laws requiring a 3 batter minimum. Guy was horrible against righties.

    Don’t know if anyone noticed.........Greg Bird, oft injured ex-Yankee player, has signed a contract
    with the Texas Rangers. I believe it’s for one year. Wish him the best. Yankees released Bird
    for assignment November 27 when he became a free agent. Cashman & Boone had seen
    too many injuries take over this guy’s baseball life.
