possibly. But that team has been good for a couple years despite not having a playmaking jump shooter. That’s the chink in their armour.
Not even straight across? What are you talking about lol. CJ is a better scorer and playmaker than Tobias. He’s the perfect guard for Simmons and Embiid. The pick and roll/pop between all three of them would be deadly. And next year CJ is gonna be $5 mil cheaper than Tobias. Add these up and Philly would love to get CJ for Harris
When you take off the 'homer' glasses and take a the general consensus at large - Harris is viewed as being more valuable. This isnt a large sample size - but over half the people dont think Philly would consider that deal. https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2074859&sid=c82cdea85e84a62850a420e835d5a772
Some people equate a player's worth but their scoring.....only. And even then, most of the time don't take efficiency into account.
Interesting. And btw I don’t like CJ at all like not at all. So don’t call me a homer. If you have known me, you would know that I have thrown the CJ trade a lot around here. With that being said, I think the fans are trying to say that is CJ worth creating a gap at the 4. If we included RoCo, I think we may get their attention
D69.... who had Giannis and Gobert as Top 3 players in their Drafts, has a couple of players that might be available around the 12-14 range that he thinks would be good gets for Portland. I promptly forgot a couple of the names, but one reminded him a bit pf Giannis. One name I do remember was Scottie Barnes, a rangy 6'8" wing who can defend multiple positions and be a playmaker.
Yessir! My type of thread. We need to get ready for the draft. Make moves. Package with a player. This is why id rather have the pick. Blazers suck and going nowhere.
Maybe Kai Jones is who you’re thinking of? If not, I still like him a lot. I think he can be an impact player in the league. He’s more of a Christian wood to me though
I'll ask him to text the specific names. No one is always correct, but he has been uncannily accurate over the years so I've learned to trust his recs even if I have no idea who the player is.
First NBL triple double for Josh Giddey, 12 (83%)/10/10. He's been threatening a triple double nearly every game, and has finally cracked it. He's averaging 11.09 (42%/31%/65%)/7.43/7.13. Obviously needs to continue working on his shooting, but it has been improving throughout the season.
He is an intriguing prospect for sure. His potential like a lot of people really come down to his shooting. I have a tough time seeing him as a superstar but can see him as a nice star player for team
Here's a trade no one will like very much. Tobias Harris to Cleveland CJ McCollum to Philly Kevin Love and Matisse Thybulle to Portland Cleveland needs to add some sweetener (to someone). This would be an extreme buy-low scenario, but if Melo, CJ, and Kanter are off the team, we might be able to live with Dame and Kevin Love being the only negative defense rotation players, and it would give Dame a great pick n pop partner. Lillard/Powell/Roco/Love/Nurkic Simons/Thybulle/Little/Collins I think we'd want to bring in a vet PG as well (Cory Joseph) and another backup big (Ed Davis). That team isn't perfect by any means, but I think it'd be more cohesive and guys would know their roles more than what we're rolling out now.
Id do that as it address's two areas. One of the best up and coming defenders and a big that come replace Melo off the bench.
If Portland feels like Thybulle can become their Mikal Bridges, then this is actually a pretty good deal; Philly would need a couple of picks their way courtesy of Cleveland as well. I would bring Love off the bench and roll with a starting lineup of: Dame/Norm/Tisse/RoCo/Nurk And if Nurk is in foul trouble or not having a better game, a finishing lineup could look like: Dame/Norm/Tisse/RoCo/Love
My thought is that at least Love passes the damn ball and could serve as a playmaker in the second unit for 20 mpg. I think our young guys would like playing with him. It's also a forgotten skill of his, but his outlet passes are (or at least were) nasty. We could play up-tempo as a change of pace when Dame and Nurk are off the floor. (vet PG - my preference is Cory Joseph)/Simons/Nas/Love/Collins
Ehh is he better though. His assist numbers have been lower than CJ and even Nurk. Both of them actually have a higher career assists rate than him. Then you add the fact he has been cursed with injury the last few seasons. And his humongous contract that’s essentially untradeable. And he’s getting old. I much rather have Tobias Harris than Love
