I'd LOVE getting that kind of return... I would argue that Dame is at least as valuable as Durant. I wonder if Cronin told Dame, "If it doesn't work out, we'll get you where you want to go" in an effort to get him to stick around. So many unknowns. Ugh.
The rumor is that Dame was all-in a few days ago, but then he later saw the story about the removal of his image from the front of the Rose Garden and changed his mind.
how can you tell what they really value? Cronin said Blazers "desperately" needed length...then he signed 6'2 Payton Chauncey talks coaching one way, then coaches another right now, I have no faith at all the Blazer front office will do anything smart on any day of the year except draft day. Smart would be dumping expensive role players like Ant and Nurk. But smart would also be NOT signing Grant, a role player, to a huge 5-year deal
So Cronin planned all along to draft Scoot Henderson? That just happened. I'm glad he didn't pass on Scoot.
What do you do with Grant though? Why that fucking signing? Miami had SHIT to help this team going forward. SHIT.
Every been to Milwaukee, its 80 miles from Chicago, like Seattle City proper isn't that big but the surrounding area is. You can drive from Milwaukee, trough Chicago, Indy , Dayton & Louisville in s short day. Denver, I wouldn't call them a small market, more of a mid sized market w/ 4 major sporting franchises.
Yep. This trade impacts us for the next 8-10 years. Yes we have two young studs but if you get shit assets back from this it affects us greatly for a long time. Most nervous I've been in an off-season since I can remember.
Dame can inform us of anything he wants to but he said yes about Brooklyn and Miami when asked directly a month ago. So I'd make Dame give us a list. Dame is probably pretty pissed at Joe right now. I can't imagine any scenario where Joe has done what he told Dame he would do, otherwise I really do believe that Dame would be staying. Joe said one thing and did another several times and I don't know if it was before the draft or after but Joe made Dame make the decision, in so doing Joe was the one that actually made the decision to trade Dame.
I think we should try to send him to Brooklyn and get back Claxton and as many of their picks that they have from Phoenix, Philly, and Dallas (6 picks) that we can.
Love Dame, wanted him to stay, but if he is demanding a trade to Miami and Miami only, we should not do what he wants. I don't want Herro. Get the best return for him. Go Blazers!
The Spurs have 6 1st round picks in the next 2 years. That would be optimum. But Dame saying he only wants to go to Miami is completely screwing Portland. Thanks for the loyalty. That is his parting shot to completely hose Portland on his way out. That leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
Ive got to hand it to you. You pushed and pushed and you were right. I really thought we would move Ant and picks to bring in another starting vet to please Dame and he would stay. You were right. I was wrong. Im gonna go cry now…
