The fact that they call that a "smart play" makes me sick. That was one of if not the most egregious flop I've ever seen.

Was that Collins doing the expert analysis of that play? God I hate that guy. First it was, "Perkins just runs right over Harden" (wrong) then it's a "great play by Harden" to flop, then "hard for a big guy to stop" or whatever. Notice also all of the subsequent replays were from angles that would tend to support the bad call, and none came from the original angle that clearly showed Harden ran up into Perkins, pushed off his chest, and flew out of bounds. All that is to say, sometimes the NBA, their crooked refs, and their sycophantic TV announcers, make it hard to conclude the games aren't rigged at some level.

Fuck James Harden. Giant douche.bag.

and his beard and snaggleteeth make me sick.

What you have to understand is that the NBA never wants to insult the integrity of it's officials. It's to a point that bad calls aren't replayed and announcers say stupid shit like that. If you look at that clip where Harden flops, you will notice that the official has a HORRIBLE view of the play.
He is looking at asses and elbows when he should be looking at the players sides (open look) He guesses (another cardinal ref sin) and completely blows the play. Then everyone in here talks shit about Harden flopping. It's not Harden's fault. It's the ref's fault through and through. If players were not rewarded with whistles when an out of position referee calls a flop they would self correct and stop flopping. It's simple. Get position, see if the offense goes to and through the defense (while the D is in a legal guarding position) and if the defender flops ignore him. He will whine. Tell him stop flopping and keepitmovin.

Exactly!!! We should be asking the NBA to fine refs for being complete idiots. Once the NBA start taking from the ref's pocketbooks, they won't strive to get the calls right. Then when the refs are actually calling the game right, the players will have to adapt. No more flopping because it gives them no advantage.

Or should the nba add another ref on the floor? I have no idea, just throwing a thought out there

Exactly. NBA ass kissers like Doug Collins and Reggie Miller won't say anything to make the league and the refs look bad, and the networks won't show unfavorable replays. IOW: They lie to their customers. Then the ref, who didn't see the play (or he's incompetent or he's corrupt), feels compelled to make a call, because Ass Wipe Harden just banged into a bigger player and went flying out of bounds, arms and legs a-flailing. Gah!

Sounds like Steve Kerr to me.

Robot officials are the future of the league.

Wow that defense is so funny at first I thought the video was a fake...

Exactly, let's see Harden flop when he has a terminator 5 feet away from him waiting to call him on it.

You are terminated!

What really should happen is having a auditor group, outside the control of the officiating group, that uses these awesome new player cameras to monitor the refs.

Have a sliding scale on human errors and have accountability for officials. Like a report card that determine who calls playoff games. Only those that call it right most the time can officiate playoff and national televised regular season games.

Give them incentive to do right. Then dumb fuck "look at me" officials aren't "grandfathered" in. Only the ones calling it fairly

Or have more replays during the game. Possibly have coach challenges similar to the NFL.

The NBA really should suspend referees if they make more than 5 bad calls a week.

dunno about that..but

As of 2014, the average salary for an NBA referee is between $100,000 to $550,000 per year. This salary is given to referees who work a full basketball season which is about of 82 total games
An entry-level referee can expect to make an average of $150,000, whereas senior-level referees are paid on the highest level of the spectrum. NBA referees often start their career with high school and college games and then move their way up to the NBA league. Referees need to know the basic rules of basketball and exhibit excellent court presence and on-court communication. An NBA referee needs to hone his skills to include the knowledge of NBA-provided feedback as well as play-calling.

How about if there was a sliding scale for shit calls? If these guys are yanking down 12 to 50K per game, they really should be held to a stricter standard than the garbage we now have to put up with.

Not saying they have to be perfect, but to flat our ignore a call based upon some preconceived notion of stardom..ludicrous

Just to play Devils advocate... Aldridge's left hand comes out fairly often and its usually not called.

Remember how much they called him on it during the pre season?
