Just got off the phone with Mrs Lanny... HE'S HOME! It sounds like they are going to wait 4-6 weeks for the infection to clear up before they replace his heart valve.
This is not very good news, no? I am sure it would have been optimal to get the valve replacement done now vs opening him up again in 4-6 weeks? Nothing but good thoughts for Lanny, as it sounds like he isn't out of the woods yet. and thank you for being the go between regarding his details to all of us that care for him.
I'm back. I've gotta get two stents for arery blockages and then they can install the new valve. That will take about 2 months. In the meantime I feel better. Dialysis time so I gotta go.
Glad to hear you're doing better, Lanny! I've missed you trying to convince us about how much of a sweetheart Trump really is in the OT forum. (Sorry, just wanted to see if you're still really you. ) If you can convince your wife to not kill me, I might be able to send a young lady or two to roleplay as hot nurses for you. Keep kicking dialysis' ass!
Glad to see you back! I got 2 stents in '06. Piece of cake. Surgery Tuesday morning, home Thursday, and back to work Monday. Which sucked, I thought I'd get a week or two off. Felt a lot better though. I've got a valve we're keeping an eye and will need a new one if it gets much leakier. Cardiologist said theres nothing to that one either but thats easy for him to say of course. Take it easy!
Lanny is back in the hospital. OHSU. Was sent to the ER on Tuesday and finally was put into a hospital room last night. He's having surgery tomorrow.
That sounds like he had a setback...sure hope he pulls through this. Tomorrow is my birthday....now I know what to wish for when I blow out my candles...that Lanny's candles stay lit!
