How does that make anything I said untrue?
Besides, I'd guess closer to 30, just because he can have all the minutes at 4 and 5 that don't go to Nurk or RoCo. There's literally NOBODY ELSE.
True.
This is a backup big that will play the minutes Melo played for us last year. Excitement is warranted.
Good point. I'm happy with the move, but we still need more.

Still looks a bit imbalanced to me:

Guards: Dame/CJ/Simons
Wings: Powell/Roco/Nas
Bigs: Nurk/Nance/Zeller

There's your effective 9 man rotation with Snell/McLemore on the deep bench. Begging for size though.

Dame / Ant
CJ / ?
Powell / Nas
Roco / Nance
Nurk/ Zeller

It improves our size a lot. Roco gets to slide down to 3 for stretches. I see it more this way.

Dame (34)/Ant (14)
CJ (34)/Nas (14)
Powell (32) /Roco (16)
Roco (16)/Nance (32)
Nurk (28)/Zeller (20)

That's a lot more beef than we were throwing out there last year.

dollar store draymond. These guys are not close in terms of talent or impact, come on now. But we did get him for just a first haha.

PER was identical, as were rebound rates. Nance had a superior TS%, steal % and graded out better in OBPM. Draymond had a superior assist % but I bet Nance takes a big bump in that category playing with Dame and CJ. Draymond is a better defender but Nance is very good in his own right.

Happy because I like nance. Sad because this means no cj trade, and we are actually committed to Norman Powell as our fucking small forward :(

i think draymond's true impact isn't quantifiable but let's see how Nance fares.

Pretty wild. This makes me think that the team is trying to stay under the cap this year. I wonder if that pisses Dame off? It allows them to go into cap to re-sign Nurk next year without paying repeater I suppose.

A deadline move of Powell for Jerami Grant would be absolutely perfect.

That said, "Dollar Store Draymond" was brilliant, and I will be referring to him as DSD any time he has a bad game this year.

huh? Portland is taking on money, what are you talking about? Why would Dame be pissed off? He knows Nance is an upgrade.

Ahh missed the Woj tweet on the Lauri contract.

4 yrs, 67 mil

If he can shoot at higher volume, that's not bad considering what guys like Bertans got.

Not a huge fan of Norm, but that's a downgrade. Again with the bewildering Grant obsession.
Slight talent downgrade, but a far better fit. Think Powell's offensive skills are minimized next to Dame/CJ, while his height is difficult to overcome on D.

I'm not as obsessed with Grant as others who are willing to trade CJ for him. I understand the high usage, low efficiency caveats with him.

Although it would be nice to have a first round pick SOMETIME in the future....
why? The Blazers only seem to take projects in the first round, who won't contribute for 3+ years. It is fun watching the draft, but I would rather have someone who will actually produce and help the team.

I was about to say that Grant gives me distinct Harvey Grant vibes (which is NOT a compliment)... and then I remembered why they have the same last name.

I mean this is clearly a win now deal. By itself it’s not good enough, but there is some flexibility it gives us mid season to move Powell, RoCo or Nurk.

You mean like Saddiq Bey, who was available at the pick we traded on draft day for RoCo? Or Isaiah Stewart, who was TAKEN with that pick, and led all rookies in WIN scores?

So Cleveland thought giving Markkanen 70m was better than two firsts? I like Markkanen but man that’s a risk.

Want me to list all the players who were taken after Zach? Caleb? Ant? Nas? who are contributing in the NBA in their first few seasons while we were told to wait on potential?

There variety ways they can use Nance. He can score inside or out. You can put him in pick and roll. Defensely it will definitely help that 2nd unit this plus for this team and just might change my win totally for this team. He also had some pretty big games last year. Biggest thing for him is to stay healthy.
