Perhaps but Im not sure why he shouldnt have been. He is a good defender and can score. Both things are needed on our bench. Really really makes me wonder because I cant believe that Olshey didnt at least check so what are the plans exactly?????
We couldn't have absorbed Afflalo's 7.75M contract without sending out at least 5.3M of our own. That either guts our stable of young players or one of the starters, or ORL takes on "non-optimal" assets like Freeland or Wright, which goes against their cap space flexibility plan. DEN used an exception they had (edit: 9.8M from Iggy's trade last year that they had to use by 10 July). Now they have about 2M left on that exception and a couple of ones at 1.7M and 1.2M).
Hm... It does seem like a decent fit. What kind of FAs can ORL bring in with Oladipo, Wiggins, Vucevic and about 30M in space?
No telling what that 56th pick might get them. Who knows man, this draft seems like it might get crazy.
ORL is pretty close to "2 RFA Max" territory, has the #4 and the #12. Maybe ORL knows that a backcourt of Oladipo and Exum or Wiggins or Gordon is better if they don't have an 8M not-part-of-the-future player blocking the younguns? Dunno.
set up for a tank job again this season, guess we will see who they bring in...might be ripe for a salary dump to acquire a gaggle of picks also
Initial rumors had afflalo 4,12 for 1. I wonder if cavaliers really had no interest in afflalo, and would prefer to dump Jack, and thus the tpe created from afflalo deal?
No wonder Klay Thompson might think he should get max money: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/233934/Iguodala-Warriors-Shouldnt-Trade-Klay-Thompson It is being fed to him right and left by Iggy.
Fucking ridiculous. He's not a max player. Not even close. He should get something similar to Afflalo and Wes. He isn't a star.
