You can give any rating you wish, but I still find it amusing how you said TDITTL was a "good track" yet you gave it a C. That's the only part that bothers me. Just call it an average song if that's the case.
<div class="quote_poster">CABANGBANG Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Alice In Chains - Man In A Box</div> A+ Aside from Freddie Mercury, Layne Staley is rock music's greatest frontman. The passion from every single word he uttered still makes me shiver to this day after years of his death. As well, the rest of the musicians especially Jerry Cantrell (guitarist) deliver their own, and they deliver it in a very good fashion. Alice In Chains is one of my favorite bands. A genius testament in rock's progression. It's a very catchy song but with a good message, which is what made them so legendary. BTW, it's Man In The Box. Mine: Plastic Little Feat. Ghostface Killah -- Crambodia It's just 1:20 of the whole song. I couldn't find the whole thing, and uploading it myself might be breaking some rules. So, if you like it PM me and I'll send it to ya.
Ocean Size - A I gotcha' man. That was one of the most kickass performances of Ocean Size I've ever seen J.A. do. They really get overlooked in the great scheme of things, but are one of the great modern rock bands of our era. I love playing this song for people who're only familiar with songs like "Jane Says." It's such a powerful rock anthem. Navarro's an amazing guitar player, very talented - no one doubts that, but I've always felt his creativity took a big drop after he left the band to record One Hot Minute. One second, and I'll get to Sasha's and post a new one. Let's keep this organized... Edit: Crambodia - C- I'm a rap fan, so don't say I'm discriminating, but I really didn't see much in that song. The chorus sounded like it would be interesting, if you had more to let us hear, but even that sounded like it was ripped from somewhere, like a sample. The beat was so-so, but the delivery was nice, I'll give them that. New Song: John Frusciante - Second Walk (let me know if it's not loading right, because I've had some problems with it)
Second Walk: A This is a really great, up-beat song. The guitar work is awesome as always. This song makes me tap along with the drums. I need to check out some more of Frusciante's solo work. My Song: Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song Invalid Video Link

This was supposed to be for fun, but you're letting opinion and judgment get the better of you without respecting someone else's. I used to listen to that type of music you listen to when I was a kid so I do know about it and understand it, but you have no idea of avant-gard so there is no point to the discussion about a comparison as really there is none. Meaning the two styles are completely different. Don't think I'm bashing your taste in music when I've seen bands like Slipknot myself several times before they even sold out and changed their style. I'm into all genres of music and that's simply it. If you can't take another opinion don't participate and you won't have to worry about anything.

This seemed like a logical conclusion. Now, while I should have conducted myself in a better fashion, I still feel I have made a valid point. I simply feel your rating system is dubious.
I give a B for Stone Temple Pilots. It was my first time hearing that song and it was pretty good. The guitar work is ok, nothing special. My song: Pantera - Cowboys From Hell Invalid Video Link
Never heard Interstate Love Song? That's pretty damn surprising for someone who's as into music from the 90's as you are. Yeah, the guitar's simple, but it's brilliant. You don't have to be complex to be good. I find that the best guitar players are minimalists, like John Frusciante. And yeah, M, I'll get around to PM'ing you some day. Nothing personal, but I'm just slow as hell with my PM's/E-Mails, to everyone. Cowboys from Hell - C+ That riff is pretty annoying (Kid Rock did major justice to it in "Bawitaba," his only good song though), but I like the solo about 2:40 into it. Not Pantera's best imo. <div class="quote_poster">Voodoo Child Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Pearl Jam - Do the Evolution</div> D+ I usually like Pearl Jam but here it just seems forced. It seems to me like Eddie is trying to pull off a Tom Waits but without actually being soulful about it. The actual music is good though, but the voice is too prominent so it ruins it for me. Here's mine: Coco Rosie -- Good Friday

The same voice is on Ten, the same voice is on Vs., Vitalogy, No Code, and the rest of Yield for that matter. In fact, his vocals are very similar to what they are on "Go." The man has a God-given raspy voice, not trying to "pull off a Tom Waits." To each his own though, but I've always found that song to be one of Pearl Jam's best from all perspectives: lyricalls, musically, and yes, vocally. Jack Irons = Greatest drummer Pearl Jam's ever had (BTW - I'm sure you know this, but just wanted to point out to those who didn't, Pearl Jam's original name was "Mookie Blaylock," yes, like the former Atlanta Hawk. ) EDIT: <font color=""Red"">I couldn't get your song to work, so I'm just going to leave the forum open for someone else's grade on it.</font>
He usually tries to go along with the song, and here he just seems like another layer that doesn't quite fit in. He's usually on point is what I'm trying to say. My song worked for me, but here's a YouSendIt link... http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...8C119AF3B9D4190
C If you're into that kind of music, it's awesome. It's just not my type. RHCP - The Zephyr Song Invalid Video Link
A This song gets a lot of **** from casual fans just because it's so popular, but it's popular for a reason - it's an amazing song. I don't care what kind of music you're into, if you can't get into this song, then you don't like music. My only complaint is that Anthony's vocals are a bit too loud. I'd like to hear more Frusciante. I'm also not a huge fan of the drum machine, although it's grown on me. Love the lyrics too. They may be a bit too obvious, poppy, mainstream, blah blah blah... w/e people say of them... but I perfectly think they're perfectly crafted, poetic lyrics. Forgot how cool this video was too. It's probably my favorite Chilis video to date. New Song: <strike>The Doors - Ghost Song (This song was actually done after Morrison died. They used a poetry reading he did and added it to an instrumental track they recorded. I really dig the sound. It's not really one of their best songs, but I just think it's cool how they incorporated old recordings of his voice into a new song. It was kind of like what the DJ's are doing with Pac these days, except this was 20-30 years before that.)</strike> Changed my mind... The Doors - Spanish Caravan Invalid Video Link
B I like it. For it's time, it's as original as you can get. It's very unique. Thanks for showin' me that song. Staind - It's Been Awhile Invalid Video Link
C It's probably my favorite Staind song but it sounds too much like a lot of other rock songs of the time. Sounds very much like something Nickelback would do. Tremendously catchy lyrics, though. Leonard Cohen - Famous Blue Raincoat Invalid Video Link One of my favorite songs at the moment, the lyrics are amazing. This version is like a "remix" of the original Leonard Cohen version and a cover by Jennifer Warens. The video's not the original video, just the only one I could find on youtube.

I've always found Nickelback's music more geared towards entertainment and shallow compared to Staind. I've seen both live and Staind blew them away. Fair enough though. I'm having troubles playing your song, I'll pass judgment to somebody else.

New Song: Radiohead - Paranoid Android Invalid Video Link
<div class="quote_poster">Voodoo Child Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> New Song: Radiohead - Paranoid Android </div> Rating: A- One of my favorite Radiohead songs. The guys in the band said they were influenced by The Beatles - Happiness is a Warm Gun (one of my favorites), when making this song, and it definitely shows. This is something a bit different, from an artist I just discovered and fell in love with today: Nellie McKay - Sari. She's talented, clever, and sexy. Invalid Video Link
B Haha, man, there were parts of that which made me crack up. Maybe I just wasn't expecting her vocals to be so fast and aggressive. Clever is right though - I really dig that. She's a real talent. I'd love to see her live... Still, without the visual, I'm not sure if I'd like it half as much, because part of the whole shtick is that she catches you off-guard. That's the kind of rec I like though... new talent that I hadn't heard of yet. Good find. New Song: The Flaming Lips - Do You Realize?
