When I worked at Genentech I took BART every day. Didn't take much longer than sitting in traffic. I walked there, a mile each way, then read. Amazing how many books I was able to read those years.

Or getting re-elected, or...

Biden and the democrats aren't trying to "save" America, as we are all led to believe.
Getting reelected is about all I think he cares about. He's a populist. That's his party.

He may try to portray himself as such, but Biden is no populist. Biden works for Wall street, not main street. Neither are the democrats a populist party. They work for our military industrial complex, wall street, billionaires, etc. . The American people, not so much these days. America has two parties, and they are both pro-war as well as pro-corporation. When Biden and the democrats can do as the republicans do: send more money to our department of defense every year, while Americans sleep on our sidewalks, parks, etc. . You see that their priorities aren't with American citizens. The "party of the people" died decades ago.

Biden's approval rating is now lower than Trump's was at this time in his presidency. Personally, I don't see Biden winning a second term. And, sadly, I also don't see the democrats doing anything to deserve our votes either.

You're not wrong.

Let's just revisit a few threads about reelection from a decade ago:

Should Obama Not Run For Relection?

Liberals turning on Obama

New book says Obama "in over his head"

Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?

I'm sure there are more... one point is, there's always chatter about how the incumbent is doomed. Sometimes it turns out to be true, sometimes not.

I think Obama had a lot more in the tank than Joe does heading into a second term.
I believe the only reason he won the nomination was the DNC feared Bernie may win.
Im going on on 72 and feel in decent shape physically and mentally but know that I’am not the same driven guy I was years back. I voted for Joe because I like him and thought Id give him the benefit of doubt that he had the stamina to beat trumper. Im thinking he should consider retiring and enjoy his fam and grandkids without all the shit he puts up with.

$10k doesn't make a difference to some people, it's true. But so what?

Price of gas doesn't matter a bit to me, but I recognize it matters a lot to other people.
