Yeah, I don't really like that change either. Seems like a gimmick. I know you aren't a baseball fan but the other rule change is that once a new pitcher is subbed in, they have to face at least 3 batters. This one isn't covid related though, it was planned to happen in 2020 already.
I hate this rule. Takes away some of the decision-making by the manager (and speculation by the fans). Also hurts small market teams as they can sign matchup relievers cheaper than signing a reliever who is good against both lefties and righties.
If you have never understood the appeal of "Soccer" and don't follow the Premier League... just give this a watch and see if it can change your mind. This year's Liverpool are special (and I say that as a Leeds fan).

NWSL women's soccer is all in SLC right now for their Challenge Cup.... been there about a week and haven't heard of anybody testing positive yet, so there's that. On a side note, the Orlando team had a bunch test positive during training camp end of June and decided NOT to go. ORLANDO!
