First of all, the only visible sign of the Blazers inside the court area was the Community Giving sign of McMillan, Roy, Oden, and LMA on the 3rd level.

Plus, there is the Gerald Wallace mural on the lower level exit to the Commons.

What a day. It was odd being at the RG as all of the news was coming out.

This is the day the Blazers died. Crazy.

Only to be reborn in the not-to-distant future. Like a phoenix from the ashes.

Yes, we're about to go through 5 years of shit as fans, though.

Pretty soon, Paul Allen will only have himself to fire/get rid of/shun.

What a fucking loon that guy is.

Died? No. Altered. Reset. Not dead. An era is dead, that is true. But the pinwheel lives on.......

A pinwheel with no wind, except for the hot air coming out of Seattle.

How long before Allen tries to move the team to the new arena they're building in SoDo?

I'll be sure and pour out a forty one of these days to mourn the fallen.

Lucky none of us got a Blazer tattoo!

If you don't see the value of the moves that were done today, I don't really know what to say.

The value of not having a GM for over a year, or the value of getting rid of the one person in the organization that was respected by the rest of the NBA?

Caleb Kanales is the head coach now??? Are you fucking kidding me??

Which NBA mind is going to want to work for the fucking lunatic that owns this team?

I actually think Blazer fans, at least those on this board, deserve what is coming over the next 4 years.

I don't know if your being serious or you are just stressed out and kind of down from the last few weeks. The Blazers were playing like crap, we were destined for a lottery pick and were losing Camby at the end of the season. Wallace was playing a total Jekyll and Hide game the entire season and we moved him for another deep lottery pick, he wasn't in our plans for the future anyway.
We have our Franchise player, Two decent starters ,we have some decent rookies that will now get some play. We We move a stubborn coach who had lost the team and have a few very good draft picks to either trade away or do a quick rebuild. We also are appearing to have 20+ million capspace this summer to build around LA/Batum and we have taken on 2 players to test out and see if they fit our system (not likely Flynn/Habbett are both busts).
As much as people have bitched about management and having no plans for the future, they came out and showed us they did. We are committed to building around LMA/Batum and what we pulled off today, as a team that wasn't headed for the playoffs, is the pure definition of a quick rebuild and it is at a perfect timing. There is going to be a change of guards in the west the next few seasons and we have made moves to be among the young guns (yet again) to displace the aging veteran group.

I think you are overvaluing this teams "reputation" as a horrible franchise to work for. If the Clippers can keep getting people to work for them year after year (some of them respected people) why can't we?
The amount of people looking for jobs in the NBA is huge compared to the positions around. There can only be 32 GM's and 32 Head Coaches. No matter what an organization does you will always have quality people wanting those jobs.

This happens whenever a coach is fired one of his assistants takes over tell a real head coach can be found. Sometimes that assistant sticks around sometimes they don't. I don't get why your upset over this.

This year has been terrible. I don't think that the next four years can be any worse. At least there's some hope that the team is willing to do something other than sign older players trying to get on the other side of mediocre.

Ed O.

It's obvious that Kaleb Canales is the long term plan for head coach of this team :rolleyes2:

One person did create this mess...it was a team effort.

Papa G is right to blame Allen. The problem is, he should ALSO be blaming Larry AND Chad AND Nate AND the players.

Bingo... To simply point at one person, especially a player or coach would be foolish.

Hasn't stopped people on here from doing it for years!

You don't agree with them? be prepared for NateBishop to accuse you for working for the blazers for only having those opinions. Oh wait...

Nah, we know HCP is a homer, but he posts on here all the time. You only seem to show up to defend the honor of McMillan.

You got what you wished for three years ago when you were rooting for the team to tank so you would be "right" about McMillan.

This organization is a joke. As for the Clippers, Sterling's biggest problem was he kept around inept people for too long (Elgin Baylor), and wouldn't spend money. With the new CBA, he can now be competitive, and he finally has allowed a decent basketball person to run his team.

Paul Allen is a fucking joke, and is the laughingstock of the NBA right now.

Based on your avatar, it seems like you're already onto the next scapegoat. Some of us have known the real problem for years, but didn't spend hour after hour whining about superfluous factors.

I doubt people think he is the laughing stock of the NBA. In fact you defending Sterling and then calling Paul Allen a fucking joke says about all that it needs to say about your deposition tonight which from what I can see is "Pissed off McMillian was fired so this franchise can suck a fat one".

Uhhh...

If you think Donald Sterling's biggest problem was (and still is) not surrounding himself with competent basketball people, you must have not read any news on Donald Sterling in the last ten years.

If you think Paul Allen is more of a laughing stock than Donald Sterling, then you must not think repeated, blatant racism and sexism is a serious matter:

I would take Paul Allen over Donald Sterling any day of the week (and several other owners, in fact). Really, you're just being ridiculous now - either being completely oblivious or willfully ignoring several documented instances over DECADES of dehumanizing, illegal activity on the behalf of Donald Sterling.

Sterling has a playoff team. Allen has no GM, he just fired the only person in the organization with any NBA credibility, and he traded away two assets for draft picks that aren't going to be worth shit. As for a laughingstock, I spent literally the entire day in the RG as the news kept hitting the wire, and by the end, most people in my section were laughing at Paul Allen and his idiocy.

LMA is the next to go this summer.

Oh, and this franchise can "suck a fat one", as it proved today.

Yeah, it wasn't "dehumanizing" at all to Kevin Pritchard when Allen banished him from the coveted seat next to King Paul, yet didn't fire him.

There is a reason Paul Allen's personal wealth has shrunk the past 10 years, while his peers in the ridiculously wealthy have seen their net worth increase.

It's because he's a guy that was lucky to know Bill Gates, and has lived his life in a bubble since then.

I'd rather have Sterling, because at least with him you knew that the problem was just trying to make a buck.

I don't get this "The whole writing is on the wall were losing our franchise player and will be mired in mediocrity for years to come". It seems almost a complete 180 for you. one of those draft picks is going to be lottery picks in one of the supposed deepest drafts since 2003 giving us 2 lottery picks to pair up with LMA/BAtum/Mathew/Ewill and whoever we can entice in FA with our large amount of capspace. We did these trades to not be mired in Mediocrity for years.
Also how were these guys assets? Cambys play was horrible as of late and he was going to retire at the end of the year leaving us with nothing, Wallace was so inconstant he made Batum look as consistent as Duncan and was either going to be here next year for almost our entire capspace on a Body that is showing way to much wear and tear from his seasons in the NBA, or we were going to lose him for nothing.
I get the Coach thing, but everything else just doesn't make sense to me.
