Haha... just read more from the same rivals writer saying the back and forth texting continued and ended up with Johnson relaying he wasn't at the game. Apparently Oregon has a staffer who looks a lot like him and was escorting the other recruits and rumors snowballed. I hear 247 has a whole series of recruit pics with the staffer identified as TJ Tyron did go on to say he hopes to set up a visit with the Ducks but I wouldn't hold my breath STOMP
After digging, outside of him commenting on the good visit (arn't they all) there doesn't seem to be much solid behind 247's crystal balls, just Hopes and maybe a shot or two.
Canton looks like he'd be a great fit on their DLine. As like Wheels mentioned he's already about the same size as the guys they've got there and he looks like he can really move. Need as in next season? That question probably won't be answered until the offseason when we see who (if anyone) moves on. Armstead, Buckner, Balducci, Kamp & Talia are all Juniors who figure to remain in their current rotation roles if they return. They also have Sophomore TJ Daniel and three Freshman who figure to be ready for bigger roles a year in. That CK is enrolling early should give him enough time to learn the schemes & of course he's rated very highly by the various recruiting services, but time will tell if he's able to leapfrog some of the players ahead of him right off the bat. Certainly there figures to be plenty of snaps available the season after next when those 5 Juniors have all moved on, so he is a very important addition. STOMP
actually no, recruits don't all relay that they've had a good visit. Mums the word for John Houston & Marvell Tell and several others from this cycle. I'll take Merritt relaying that the trip was an A+ for him as a good sign. he's being recruited as an athlete/WR for Oregon not as a RB... some are calling him a faster Josh Huff STOMP
Now a Huff I wouldn't mind. Would love to have him and Doherty at WR and Safety respectably. Also, Dillion Mitchel commits. We have 3 4-stars for 2016
I've been wrong many times before, but it seems we've a great shot at landing both though I'd guess Doherty is the more likely of the two STOMP
Yeah. Will be tough pulling Kirk away from Auburn or LSU. So Manu says he's checking on other places due to us looking at other DTs? What other DTs aside from Green are we lookign at?
Carlberg to announce monday, us or MSU probably with Vandy as a dark horse. No real clear idea on who he picks, things were trending to MSU before that went quite and he did have the recent oregon visit. If we land him it puts Manu at risk but not out of the picture.
over the summer I read that Drayton plans on majoring in Business with a focus on Sports Marketing. Feeling good about Monday. Really hoping on Carlberg... if they do land him, I'd guess that there would still be a spot for Manu at NT. On the other hand, maybe they have Green & Gallimore rated higher & feel good enough about their chances to risk putting him on the back burner as a signing day fall back option? Oregon might lose 1-2 DLineman to the draft, but no one is scheduled to graduate. Adding 3 solid prospects (Cumberlander Canton & Drayton) would already represent an outstanding haul for the DLine. Swinging for the fences on a final spot, even if that risks losing out on a quality prospect like Manu, makes sense STOMP
